Family - January 2007

My parents have been living with me, my fiance, and my 9 year old disabled son for almost 3 months now. They are both working, but they can't make enough money to get their own place. They were in a place for the past 12 years, and they were having problems paying $400 a month. My dad drives a truck, and my mom is a deli manager at Food Lion. So, they don't make too much money. But, we only live in a 2 bedroom apartment. They have been sleeping on my couches. And on the weekends my little brother is here also. He's 16 and still in school, but he doesn't want to change schools cuz he's been @ this school since he's been going to school. So, they drive about an hour from my house to pick him up on the weekends and back another hour on Sunday. I can't tell them they gotta go, cuz they have nowhere else to go. But, I also don't want to get in trouble with my landlord. And it's kinda hard living 6 people in a 2 bedroom apartment. I don't know what to do! Can anyone give me some advise?

this now starts to be a problem because he is not happy with anything here and also start to be very rude to me...the thing is that i try to involve him in every fun activity a 9year old child can have. his father never paid for anything.(he is only calling him twice a week!).and i pay even for the trips every christmas, easter and summer to take him to greece to see his father....i am fed up. what should i do?

I have a beautiful baby girl as my niece. She's ****** beautiful and looks like a model baby with blue eyes. Not just saying how beautiful she is, since she is a part of me, my family...she really is. However, I've only seen her once. My brother is 28 and a immature 28 year old who hasn't seen his daughter at all. He briefly dated this girl who is sweet but apparently when she told him she was pregnant by him he chose to ignore it and now he thinks she is pissed at him for not standing by him. Well...I would be too...she sent me and my real mom pictures of the baby from christmas and cards and have invited us to see the baby. My real mom have but my dad and step mom say I should talk to the girl and have no contact with the baby because the baby will be confused I'm involved and not her father, my brother. If siblings have the same parents will their DNA be similar race wise or can they be different? My father and I had our DNA tested. He is Black (46%), white (41%) and American Indian (13%) and I am black (44%) white (32%) and Amer Ind (24%)
Would my Mom be more American Indian than we thought?

Will the rest of my brothers and sisters be black/white/ American Indian like me percentage wise or have more black or white in them? Or could my Mom also have say Asian and my sister or brother have Asian in them that was not reflected in me
...Or do the genes just come out and portray us differently--Within the same parents.

I would think that if siblings have the same parents, their genetic make-up would be the same. Although hair texture and color, eye and skin color change even with the same parents would race change as well?

COULD WE HAVE THE SAME PARENTS BUT ONE HAVE ASIAN IN THEM AND THE OTHER NOT BECAUSE MY MOM HAD IT and it did not show up in me?

hi, i have just been caught skipping school by my mom, i am 17 years old.
i have flights booked for the summer to go on holiday to USA.
she wont let me go now, nor will my dad.

I want to apologize, but he darted out of the house. I told him he wasn't allowed to do any reading (a punishment for him, you understand), so I took the book when I caught him reading and whammed him hard across the head. He took off and he said he was telling his mother when she got back from work. I don't know what to do.

I have a 1 month old daughter and i live with my boyfriend and his family. ever since my daughter was born, his mother would take her and just wants all day with her. Shes my daughter and i would like to spend some bonding time with her but his mom would just want her all the time and i cant say no to her all the time. Its just that i feel like my daughter might not get used to me and would want her grandma instead of me. I'm afraid of her wanting her grandma more if she gets older and i wont be able to make her happy because shes so used to being with grandma. Will that happen?

When i talk to her and confide in her she is a blabbermouth so i stop telling her just about anything...now she is cranky and snappy and asking me why i am not calling her (she says she hates phone calls) or confiding in her...Any advice...should i just stay home for a while..i really can't stand her right now?

I feel like i s houldn't even sleep anymore. They robbed us 1 time 2 years ago. 1 time last year at this same time, and yesterday .
They usually do it at 2, 3 or 4 pm.. and i can't hear anything.

And usually when they have done it is when my Father goes to mexico. Like he is in mexico for alittle one week vacation and this is when they did it. last time too, we were in mexico and sister stayed in this house and they did it.

What can we do? Should i not worry, i worry cause they might one day break into our house . This last few robberies, they just come to steal Gardening tools : Blowers, Weed eaters, Chainsaws From the back of the truck which is parked in the home driveway.. OR like this time, they broke the garaage lock holding mechanism and they stole things from the garage .
But aaaaaaaaa!!!

Any advice?

I lived with a man for 16 years. His mother kept trying to cause us trouble. She even took my dog and won't give it back. I am older than he, and she told everyone in the family that she was trying to separate us because I was too old for him. She won't give back my dog, and has finally succeeded in separating us. I am experiencing so much emotiona; distress that I cry all the time. I can't seem to stop.

It's an age old adage...gotta work to pay bills...survive...but at what cost. Lately I feel that I have sacrificed those things that matter most just to make a living...and it is not like I am making bank like that. My career path was not even chosen...I just happened to fall in to it..and now I can't even seem to fight my way out of it. It is like one of those "there is always work at the post office" jobs. I am in the human service field....even working on my Master's in it...But Why? I love to help people but I hate my job. I really want to go to cosmetoloy school....start my own salon....help people feel better that way....To leave now would be an extreme leap of faith...but I feel I need to take it for my own happiness...and my children's happiness over all. Every bit of my energy is wasted at this 8 hour gig...leaving nothing but weariness and anger when I get home to my children...who want nothing more but to love me...and receive the same in return.

hi im 14 year old boy and i got a few issues which i want to solve i hate school i almost never go and my mum is geting in trouble and its because of me and that isnt fare i dont live with my dad and i have 2 older and 2 older sister but they have they own lives exept my 16 year old brother which his ok and trys to help me but lives with my dad. i dont like goign to skool i dont go i have a big temper problem i smash things up drink sometimes and im messin my own live up which i am NOT bothed about but i want to do good for my mum and work hard like i used to. i dont listen to any one never and i stay up like 4am messin about and i dont liek it ut i cant help it. i am even soposed to be haveing a fight in 2 hrs with some dude and i will get in more trouble, any help please thanks

my mom calls me everyday and asks me to take my shahada and everyday i tell her "no i know who my god is" and she says "save your soul sister" and i say " save your soul sister". now this is beginning to get on my nerves she'll even leave messages on my machine doing a muslim prayer. and i'll leave her messages stating verses of the bible. i also let her know that a real muslim woman must cover their hair at all times and are not allowed to smoke in public or give men eye contact. she says " you have to crawl before you walk, it takes time." then she says when she stops being depressed she will go to the masjid, she dont want them to see her like that. and the only reason she became muslim was for some man that don't think about her. how can i get my mother to wake up and stop following behind these no good men and treat my step father who takes care of her with more respect?
