The best thing to do is ask her. She is old enough to know what she wants so be upfront with her and say hey hun, what do you like to do with me, and you will have your answer.

Why don't you ask her what she would like to do. A female age 13, my guesses would be going to the show, shopping, going out to dinner, having a slumber party with a few girlfriends. Having a family evening with a rented movie and popcorn. I have four sons, so it is a little different. However, you should ask her what she would enjoy doing and make a separate time to spend alone with her just mom and daughter without the little sister. This could be just a couple of hours or so a month. Special time. It is not the quantity of time but the quality of time you spend with her.Maybe take her to get her hair and or nails done. Good luck and God bless****

Dub a family night (That won't get in the way of her friends schedule) and play board games. Or just take a day and all go to the zoo or something, it may seem lame to her at first maybe but then she'll really have fun. Or have her invite a friend along. Plays are good too if she likes them. Just have to do something she likes. Maybe shopping is more her style, have someone baby sit the 6 year old and have a girl's day shopping and get your nails done. Something fun.

I also have a 13 y/o--a boy--but ya know teens tend to be very fickle---most times my 13 y/o doesnt wanna do anything with the family but once he does he has a good time--you know what your daughter likes----or you can simply ask her what she would like to do--she is probably looking for some 1 on 1 time with you---set aside a day --get someone to watch your 6 y/o and make her feel special----good luck

I'm a 13 year old (American) girl and why do ppl think that shopping is a way to make a 13 year old happy? Sure shopping may be fun every once in a while but it shouldn't be used to make a girl happy when ever she looks bored. Just let her hang out with her friends.

A 13 year old girl - obviously it does depend on what sorts of things she is into. I have a stepdaughter aged 12 1/2 and she's into all things goth - we enjoy going shopping together especially for "cool" clothes, jewellery, etc etc. She also likes going to the cinema to see films, going out for food, bowling, music concerts etc etc - it all depends on what she's interested in though. I think that generally though, 13 year old girls like to think that they are older than what they are so having conversations with them as you would do with another adult (as in your tone etc etc) will be greatly received. I hope this helps.

Why don't you ask Kate what she wants to do? Sit with her and discuss it. Make her feel like you're really interested in working together in planning a special outing for the two of you. And Don't Shoot Down Her Ideas... it will just make her withdraw further.

ok, I'm 21, so 13 wasn't that long ago, i can still remember all I ever wanted to do was go to the movies and the mall. Me and my grandma used to make stuff, little scrapbooks and stuff, or redecorate a room. When summer comes maybe go to a pool or out for ice cream or something. That's what I used to love to do.

maybe shopping and eat at a place she's never been to and try new food taste....instead of the daily meal routine....and watching movies seems to sound gd....watch a cool comedy or her fav acters....im sure they have fav celebrities....and also order pizzas and rent a movie for the night.....talk about ur probs or happenings during mealtimes to let ur child knoe there is openess and trust in the relationship....cus i can bet, teens always wanna help adults cus they feel mature and the dont wanna be treated like a child.....these are the things i wanna do with my mom......[:(

Yes...

13 year olds may like sporty stuff but not nec conventional sports...

ie skate boarding, quasar. Maybe ski lessons and you can both have a laugh falling over.

at 13 she will be starting to get into boys so maybe advice on boys, pampa makeover session.

Is she into music...

Ask her.

cinema
shopping
ice skating
horseriding
amusement park

It really depends on what shes into - having said that at 13 shes starting to develop her own opinion etc - why not take her to get a pedicure or manicure - or to get her hair done - dont allow her get something outrageous -but by showing her you kinda see her as more mature than her sister she might think its kinda cool!
