Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened...

Don't look to yesterday, it's already gone but look to tomorrow, it's an opportunity to start over...

It's normal to want what we are happy and comfortable with but you will never know what else is out there if you don't open yourself to new experiences, places, ppl, etc.

Good luck and enjoy moving...

Take it from me, I have moved 18 times over my life. I changed schools for middle school (twice) and then moved when it was time to go to high school (from across the country). I know how you feel. Luckily it sounds like you are still close enough to keep in touch with your old friends. Email and the phone are great to keep your confidence up - call them when you feel sad. I would be nervous going to a new school but it will be okay, I am sure there are other people who are new. I found that I looked for those people since they could relate to my situation. Join some clubs if you can or an after school activity - having something in common with other people will help you find new friends. Good luck, I am sure with time you will be able to keep the old friends and add new ones. = )

The feelings you have are very normal . You feel sad at ending an important part of your life. Perhaps you'll miss old friends and old routines etc., but on the other hand, a new period of your life is opening up in front of you...with new friends and new experiences. You can keep in touch with the old friends can't you? So to answer you're question - you should be sad now and gradually you'll feel happy! Good luck.

Its okay to feel sad. Trust me i know bout moving! In my total schooling life i went to 7 different schools and lived in more houses than that. I went to a school from Kinder to grade 2 and grew up with these kids in a small town. When i was told we were moving house/school i HATED my parents and was so mad and upset. I knew i couldnt do anything about it though. Then I was at a school at Yolla which was from grade 3 to grade 9 (my longest time in one place). I grew to know these kids like the back of my hand especially changing from primary to highschool with them. we were best friends an when i was told we were selling up again to move STATES i was shattered. Started a brand new school didnt know a soul, it was 4 times the size of my old school and i was so confused with life it was depressing. Eventually i did find my feet as you will too, even though i was outgoing i became alot more confident as i had to talk to ppl to find out where classes were and i had to make friends. you will too im sure. Out of everywhere ive been, at the time it seemed like the wrong thing to happen, and i was upset and mad for a long time, but in every situation i end up making some Life Friends and having a few bfs on the way. Moving is a completely different experience and is something to greet with open arms at such an opportunity. I wish you all the best, try not to be too shy im sure you'll be GREAT =) Plus theres nothing stopping you from staying in touch with the friends you have now through emails, msn, phone, text or writing an old fashioned letter. Plus its fun to go back during summer holiday or school holidays or for them to visit you in their new house!

If you're feeling depressed then you can't be happy can you? No-one can tell you how you should feel you are your own person never forget that okay! If you have genuine friends at your current school & they have computers at least you can keep in constant touch.Try talking to your parents about how you are feeling or are you unable to? Keep your head up & good luck
