I am new at this site and totally enjoying it. I have an entire section in my brain, committed to useless information! I am left handed as is my husband, my daughter and all of my best friends! Pretty strange, don't ya think! And all of us are working in the fine arts. I dance and teach dance, my husband plays drums, Neil Pert to be exact after his day job. Our daughter is our adopted miracle, and she takes after us. Forget about all that crap about geneology. She is now two years old, and already can do three or four different "paradiddles' on the drums, and does the same with her feet in tap shoes. She already listens to Zeppelin, Rush, the Stones, and of course Queen. Her mama's favorite for choreography. However, her favorite song when we dance at home, is Zep's "Immigrant song". Nite alll

The truth finally came out over three years ago. He know that me and my sister knows, but he has never brought it up to us. Our half sister lives in another country and we have never met her. My mom had told us (in tears) and still gives him grief over it. I love my dad and don't hold the affair against him, but I don't want him or I to feel awkward if I ask. What is a good way to bring it up?

lately I have been really upset with my family for not helping me with any household chores like dishes,cleaning the house or taking out the garbage. I realize that this is the way that it has been for years and years for millions of families around the world. but it has gotten to the point that I almost hate hate them...and that the dogs are the only ones that i really like. I rant,rave and also have tried talking to them calmly about my concerns and it all fall to deaf ears... what can i do? I have gone on "strike" but I I soon go back bc I cann't stand looking or living in a pig sty....my family is of the age that they can easily take care of themselves but they cann't seem to even do simple task.... I really need help...

I have a brother who is much younger me, i am 30yrs old and my brother is 21yrs old, and when he was 14 i broke the news to him that my dad was not his dad. My father kidnapped me from my mother when i was very young so i thought by telling him that my dad wasn't his real dad that he could gain what i hadn't when he was young. I also thought he deserved to know who his real dad was and if he decided to find him it was up to him. My father has since told him lies and brainwashed him and told him stuff about me that isn't true like he said he found me in a park and kept me, and has not spoken to me since and i am 30yrs old. Was i wrong for telling my brother about his real dad even tho he was 14 yr old?

i'm not saying he was better off, i'm just asking. after all, he had opportunity to escape easily, but didn't. he got to play video games instead of going to school, he got to have piercings (i don't like piercings, but maybe shawn did,) he got to have a cool haircut and cool clothes (since changed to a seemingly parent-mandated dork-*** look.) ofcourse, abuse would ruin all of this, but what if the only abuse was the original kidnapping? all speculation, of course.

I put my cousin (21) in jail for indecent assult on my 4 year old daughter. I have lost all my family members because of this. I will not go into detail about what happened for safety reasons. But he hurt her really bad. Now my family will not speak to me. I know I did what was right for my daughter. But why doesn't the family see ti that way?

How many cases of parents not wanting thier 14 year old to date.
Or of parents not wanting a kid to go out with friends ever.
Parents not wanting kids to have a life, the ones who want thier child to sit at a computer eating cookie dough and wasting away his childhood.

I can somewhat understand the dating thing for SOME ages but all of these other things like secrets in general. crushes. all of these things

Why should kids be forced to not have social lives. Im not saying this for everyone but some individuals. what kind of bullshit is it to tell someone, well ur parents love you and you should respect thier wishes you live under thier roof.

Most kids probably wouldnt live under thier parents roof if it was thier choice but its not so why is it that they have to hold our helplessness over our head and try to control us like that.

My mom's 32 years old and is really obssessed about her looks and she's making me feel like i'm ugly but i'm not. She just had a tummy tuck and got her lips all plumped up and she's always telling me to save up my money cuz i'm gonna need it for plastic surgery when i turn 30. do u have an annoying mom like that and what can i do to make her stop?????

A chain of events occurred and I lied to get my way out of it but i later went back to correct my mistakes, but what i got in return was the loss of a job and the trust of my mom. It was my fault and I lived up to it.............it didn't happen at work.....i just made the wrong decision.

i have a 14 year old grand daughter who recently has gotten out of an abusive situation with her parents, if anything is raised above her head get gets on the ground and curls up in a little ball and begs not to be hit, she halusinates and its getting VERY dangerous, she is known for cutting herself(i dont think she is doing that anymore) but if anyone yells she gets this look on her face and its like she has just seen a ghost, she is very quiet. she has friends but when she lived in utah(moved to arizona to live with her grandfather and i) she had no friends, had been raising her little brother since he was born when she was 11, she was constantly being beaten at school, she writes in a journal and she had been writing in and one day i was putting some of her cothes in her room and she had left the journal on her bed and it was wide open,she had been going to a therapist but refuses to speak to her, and they told us to just look at what ever she writes every so often,so i did and.....

Well, lets start it off like this. I don't live with my mom I live with my dad. My mom kicked me out after I told on her for abusing me. I have lived with my dad for 4 years. I am now 15. My dad is always yelling at me even when things aren't my fault and I just can't take it anymore. Noone here helps me with school or anything. I want to live with my Aunt but I don't know how to ask her. My mom wouldn't like it if I was with my Aunt. Does anyone know what I should say to my aunt. She knows about my family too. And I just re-met this aunt for the first time in 8 years in december. So I don't wanna rush anything on her you know. Any advice would be helpful =)

My brother is 17 years old now. He was raped when he was 2 months old baby by my uncle. This has happaned 16 years and 10 months ago. Currently we live in Canada and my uncle lives in Europe. My uncle used to be a teen(15 years old) when he raped my brother. My mom told to my grandma (my uncle's mom) but his mom said oh you little * * * * * stop lying. Should I drop the case or should I REPORT him to the authorities?. My brother till this day doesn't know he was raped. My uncle is 31 years old right now. He has a little daughter. I don't wan't to break off the family but there should be something done. My dad doesn't know about the rape.

My relatives have been criticizing me ever since I began going to college. They don't visit me, and they don't recognize my achievements. My sister was the first in our family to ever graduate from college, and I will be the second. They believe that college students have it "easy" because all they do is read books and don't learn anything. They also think the only way to make something of yourself is to get married and get a job. I live off of loan money with help from my parents, but they think I am spoiled and lazy for not working. Is there a polite way to make them understand that I could use their encouragement and not ridicule. Or are they just jealous?

I’m 30 years old and have moved in with my 75 year old father because of his illness. He has major surgery and is still weak. I have discovered that before I moved in he had hookers come to the house where we live. I told him this is unacceptable for me and if I found out they come to the house now that I live here, I will move out. Do I install a web cam to see if he has them come to the house while I am away? If I do decide to move out, do I tell my extended family about the hookers? They may shun me if they think I left my sick father to look after himself without a good reason. My mom has died. Her heart has stopped beating. Her last words to me were "I love you". Why couldnt I tell her the same back? Why were my last words before she left for the supermarket "I hate you"? Her red hair and green eyes still haunt me. Her touch on my shoulder i can still feel. Why couldnt I utter the words "I love you" to her? Am I that cold? How can I live with myself knowing I was the reason for her death. I muttered "I hope you die", when she wouldnt let me go out. I guess I got my wish I guess she died,and so did my heart.

I guess the main reason im afraid im pregnant is that i will let so many people down. im pretty much saying i do most of the things i do to make my mother happy and proud... most of the times its not even good enough for her.. but thats beyond the point. I stress so much because i doing one thing to please her, another to please my dad and others to please my family.. my friends and even my boyfriend. I just wish i could run away for a couple days and forget about everyone. i have been stressing soo much for the past couple weeks... i mean is it bad to stress...? and its not even for MY OWN reasons? When I first got married, I rented a beautiful house from my landlord that was on the waterfront. Beautiful. 6 months later, she threw us out with 2 days notice.

Fortunately, we thought, she had another place we could live in. So we moved in there. Smaller, older, but at least a place to live where we could afford. 5 months later, she threw us out again with 2 days notice.

This time it was a THIRD house that the landlord had available. We stayed a couple of years. And AGAIN she threw us out. But we did have 3 days to get out.

We found a house where we could pay the rent, which would be the down payment, to eventually buy the house. 3 years later we bought the house and escaped from the landlord from hell. She even offered to buy the house from the owner and then rent it to us! Fortunately the owner said no to that idea.

The landlord was my mother.

did my moms bf have the right to slap me across the back. it was like 2 yrs ago. she wasn't even married to him and he like hit me. could i have like called child abuse on him. he hit me for throwing rocks 2 which i think was so stupid. does he have the right to do anything to me, cause i don't think he does, and i now i hate her bf for doing that.
