who thinks shawn hornbeck might have enjoyed being with devlin more than with his parents?

i'm not saying he was better off, i'm just asking. after all, he had opportunity to escape easily, but didn't. he got to play video games instead of going to school, he got to have piercings (i don't like piercings, but maybe shawn did,) he got to have a cool haircut and cool clothes (since changed to a seemingly parent-mandated dork-*** look.) ofcourse, abuse would ruin all of this, but what if the only abuse was the original kidnapping? all speculation, of course.

for 5 years with out getting in touch with any one. there is something else there. trust me and before it all ove it will come

Shawn was around 11 when he was kidnapped from his parents, we have no idea what went on in Devlin house. No one can understand the fear that Shawn must have went throught.

Just because Devlin might have been 'nice' to Shawn by letting him ride a bike or get his ear pierced does not mean that it was any less a prision for Shawn.

I for one am very glad that Shawn is home with his family

Devlin seems to like boys that are preteens. When a boy becomes a teen he then replaces him, and then murders the older boy. Possible with the help of the “New Boy”.

My theory is that Devlin made Hornbeck kill or take part of the killing of Arlin. It would give him maximum control over the boy. Which would explain why he never told anyone even when he had a chance.

THIS would explain a lot!

I think there is something else going on that we don't know yet. I know he was scared but I can't believe he couldn't have got away in 4 yrs. ??????? But then again we don't know how the guy threaten him. I'm just glad they are all home.

Honestly, I dont even think he was abused or assaulted. I think he ran away, did it better than most kids and is just going to let the 40 year old perv take the fall.
