My brother is 17 years old now. He was raped when he was 2 months old baby by my uncle. This has happaned 16 years and 10 months ago. Currently we live in Canada and my uncle lives in Europe. My uncle used to be a teen(15 years old) when he raped my brother. My mom told to my grandma (my uncle's mom) but his mom said oh you little * * * * * stop lying. Should I drop the case or should I REPORT him to the authorities?. My brother till this day doesn't know he was raped. My uncle is 31 years old right now. He has a little daughter. I don't wan't to break off the family but there should be something done. My dad doesn't know about the rape.

Well it would take your mom's statement to convict him so you should go to her first before deciding what to do.

Did you/your mom see this happen? Why wasn't something done about it then? Telling grandma was not the thing to do. The police should have been informed. I don't know Canadian law but I would imagine the statute of limitation is over and telling your brother will only cause him harm if he doesn't remember. Since your uncle is far away from you I would let it go. Hopefully he was a bad teen and that he has grown into a better man. There is no way you can do anything at this late date. If you did see this happen and it is still bothering you now, you should see a counselor and work it through.

Wow...this is tough. Your mom is the one in the know right? How does she feel about opening up...she may be the only witness.
Thinking about the new young child in the picture causes a concern. I think you need expert advise. Here's a site I just looked up and I'm sure there are more. Seek professional advise on how to proceed. I would agree with you that I wouldn't let this go. The best of luck.

Actually that choice would happen to be your brothers. I believe after 7 years anyway you cant make a case on rape and have the person chraged...but look up your laws about it anyways...I feel bad for that little girl....maybe someone should sit and talk to the little girl about it and put a "nanny cam" in her room to see if he is doing it to her, that way it can be stopped if so! That way he can be put in jail and caught on the spot!

What happened 10month ago?
I wouldn't go to the authorities just yet, (your brother doesn't no a thing). I'd ring the grandma and tell her she is just as bad as he is, then I'd ring the uncle and tell him you know what he did and if he touches his daughter your scream the truth from mount Everest.
This advice is not to protect his fifty *** but your none the wiser brother. Your mother is the only evidence, IT has to her decision.

I am not sure if anything can be done but if you need to talk to your mom as she will have to give her side of the story, and do not forget you brother is going to find out about this so be ready for his reaction. Personally I would go and talk to a councellor, be cause no matter what you do you can not go back and undo any thing that happened, and to many people have ignored it for far too long, Best of luck

If it happened 16 years ago, there isn't really anything anybidy could do. There would be no evidence, and not many people obviuosly know about the rape. I know this is hard to hear, but you have to let it go. I am so sorry to tell you but there isn't anything anybody can do 16 years later.

By your question it would appear that no one but you knows of this event. Are you absolutely positive? then ask yourself what action will cause the least damage to your brother, your cousin and your dad.17 years is along time to begin to rehash. You must follow your heart but be careful that you are doing more good than harm!

You need to have the evidence and proof of the rape to hand in to the authorities, otherwise, they will not believe you and your uncle will deny everything.

Well I am sorry to hear about you brother but I think that you should tell this to the police and your dad. Since this happened to your brother I think he should know about this. But think about everything before you make your decision. I felt really sorry to hear about this.
