Family - January 2007

I have recently turned 18 in a long term relationship (2 years) and with a social group of 19-21 year olds ( me being the youngest) my Boyfriend went to uni in 2005, Already arranged before our relationship. However every week or every other week end taking the 45-60 min train drive from Stafford to Liverpool to see me ( Knowing I wasn’t allowed yet ) My parents are fairly protective over me. I respect them and understand that i was not allowed to visit my boyfriend until i was 18. Now turned 18 and mentally feeling mature enough to take responsibility for my actions. My parents completely disagree with me travelling 45 mins to see him for the weekend ( putting a huge amount of pressure on our relationship)
I respect their views and opinions but it doesn’t mean i agree and i feel my voice it drowned. What is the right thing to say? Or am I just pushing my luck?

i kno it will break my moms heart when i tell her that i want to move out and me moving out isnt all her fault.. but i do want some freedom and room to breath n grow up, im 18 and i still have a bedtime...

I am what some people would call an "overprotective mother" I do not deny it at all. I wont let my kids go to slumber parties. Instead I let them have slumber parties at our house. I wont let them go on field trips unless I accompany them. I do not let them ride a bus to school. I take them. When they are at their dads,I am constantly calling him to make sure he does not let them go outside unless he is right there with them. My children are 12,10,and 8. The oldest 2 are girls and they constantly are telling me to let them do some things without me around all the time. I have gotten all 3 of my kids cell phones to call in case of any kind of emergency. I know they are too young for them but if they are not at home ..I want to make sure I have a way to contact them.I am even worse now cause of the kid William Owenby that has just been kidnapped which is my worse fear. So my question is..is there anything I can let my kids do, without me, where I am not pacing the floors?

He actz like everything we do bothers him and he treatz my mom like a slave. Always bosses her around and he even sometimes set time limits on her. I don't appreciate that and itz bugging me. How can I tell my mother about all the situations that I see are going on?

I was sic to hear that Tamil girls from S.India marry their mother's own brother and continue calling him Uncle! Then logically do Tamil boys also screw their father's sisters? Or marry them if they happened to be younger? I would consider my sister's daugther as my own daughter. I would feel sic to think of having sex or marrying her. It is shocking! I was told that this is not a pre-historic practice but continued even today! Is it true???

Mother bought our home for us, it is our first home. She will not take our money to repay her, but she wants to live with us now. She wants to make the rules of our home and we are in our both, my hubby & I, almost 40 yr old. She has stolen from & lies to use when she stayed here for 2-mo after we renovated & moved in. What should we do? She refuses our money, but now it's a Catch-22. She gave it with STRINGS ATTACHED, when we believed she was only being motherly. We are buying homes for our sons to inherit, and we would never do such a thing. We even told them they can live in them now, at ages 18 & 20, and we will keep them in our names & pay the taxes until we die and they inherit them. I can't understand some people, sometimes even family. God bless her, I do love her dearly. No Matter What in the Past.

I am 16
I remember that I always be the number one student in my class when I learned from grade 1st to grade 9th !!!
But now,I am in 10 th grade,I amnot the numberone student in my class anymore,I am 22/49,my parents are so sad (but they are more angry !!!).They said that I was just an idiot,I am nothing but a lazy student !!!They said that I am not good at learning cuz I play too much game and spend too much time with my new girlfriend !!! They swear that If I amnot the numberone student in my class,they won't allow me to live in this house !!!
I feel that I have decay in my mind,I cause stress everyday,I am tired of their s*ck insult !!! They even make a call with my teacher (That action 's sooo stupid and so sh*t,I think)
I only think that "Sh*t ! What is the big deal here ???"
I feel sick and veryyyyyyy angry about this !
Can u tell me :
1.Am I right or my parents are right ?
2.What should I do now ? Should I insult back my parents and tell them I didn't do anything ?

I'm 14 and I've noticed this. No one can hurt our feelings so bad and so devastating as our parents. I think it's because our parents are or should be our primary and most important source of love, so when they hurt ouir feelings it's so devastating. Something like breaks inside us and there seems to be no solution, no possibilty to fix the damages. Parents should be aware of this and avoid being so emotionally devastating to their kids. When I'm a mom, if I ever have kids, I'm sure I'll care about my kids feelings, afte all, if you love someone, you care about his/her feelings.

My brothers are aged 9 and 6. My mother is divorced from their father who is violent, abusive and manipulative. I thought we were all safe when we got away from him but now the courts have awarded him unsupervised contact with them, and I'm scared that he will hurt them again. ....he's gonna kick my A S S!! What can i do?? He's gonna be back in less then two hours and even though i sorta fixed it with some duct tape but still it looks awful and its also kind of a little loose but you cant realize except of course for the duct tape i wrapped around it. I'm one of the best students, I prefer to stay at home, so I only go out on weekends to the cinema or to a restaurant with my friends, and I never brought any problems to my parents, but when I ask them to spend some time with me, they always have something more important to do, which is not true, and to 'shut me up' the buy me everything I ask for. It's not like I don't appreciate the gifts, but sometimes I would like to spend time with them.
I asked them a while ago why they couldn't go to my room, since I had done a few drawings, but they said they were busy (doing nothing)
Can someone help me?
