Family - November 2006

She tells you who to date and not date, she makes sure you're doing alright in school by asking every detail about homework, grades, courses, she criticizes everything you do, when you guys spend time together outside she questions what you're wearing, she practically orders for you in restaurants, when we cross streets she holds your hand, basically she acts like a mother to me.

I'm 22 and she's 29. I realize there's a big age gap. When I was a child, I thought, maybe when I'm over 18, she'll treat me like an adult. But that's not happening. I know that she does this because she loves me and cares for me, but there a lot of sisters who love their sisters and still treats them like adults. Little things like, telling me what to eat in restaurants is no big deal, but interferring with my dating life is crossing the line. We live in different cities, but when she comes over we're always arguing about something. I wish she could treat me like a friend instead of a "daughter".

My father was married to a woman that would not let me talk to him if she was not in the room. I know he had a will as he called me a told me he was making his out but when he died she would not let me know what was in the will. Now she has passed on and her son will not talk to me. so how do I find out what my father wanted?

im in a play.
and everyone in the play loves me.
and they all went out to perkins.
and my parents wouldnt let me go.
and im the only one.
and im the ONLY one.
not stretching it at all.
and its the last time we will go out together.
and see eachother bc most of my friends are seniors.
and its not fair.
so,
wanna say some things to make me feel better.
p.s. im 14 and VERY in need of some stability.
so support and compliments and other nice things to make me feel better would be great..

ok so i downloaded limewire to listen to music and thats all but my dad recently found out how to use it and he downloaded porn and i found out and i told my mom and he blamed it on me! and its totaly gross that i saw this bc i dont know if he watched this or not and the chairs grossin me out to bc u never know what he did? but how do i get over this, and its gunna be so weird tomorrow around him someone plz help cause thats so weird

My father sexually abused for eight years, I called out for help and they didn't believe me because I was young. As I got older they started to believe me, but did nothing. I failed at school, and had no self esteem, I couldn't tell my brother about this and even though it was weird I begged my siblings to sleep with them in their beds. My Dad found out about this and screamed at me to sleep in my own bed, and when I would lock my door, he said it was a fire hazard, but he just wanted to molest me. This doesn't affect the way I raise my children, but this does affect me a lot. I lost my childhood and I matured at a young age. My mother turned the other way while this was going on, just because she wanted to live a good life. I didn't say anything for 5 years for my family, If my Dad got arressted my mom who is old would have to get a job and we would move back to Spain, I did this for my siblings, Is there anyone I can talk to about this?

They just hold on to everything! There are newspapers from months past, soda bottles, shoes, clothes, boxes, anything you can imagine just exploding from each room in the house! I have already tried cleaning their house myself, but I don't get anywhere. I do the dishes, clean the counters, etc. but they are just recluttered within a week! What are some ways I can help them or get some serious intervention for de-cluttering their home ?

I am so tired of her bringing all these illegals around us. I have nothing against them either way. But everyone, needs a home, no job, drinks, she even married one to stay here...later to find out 11 of his 17 years here he has been locked up, He was never to come to the US again, or face prison time, he hates sher kids,,they hate him too, he calls them names, hits the boy because he wont call him dad,he was caught driving, and then they put it in my sisters hands to keep him out of jail, they asked the kids if they wanted him to stay, if they said yes, he would be in a half way house, that way they could see him, hence they are married, but they said no, so he is serving 10 years in L.A. county. He has promised revengeon them and i am scared to death for them. I told her to move, but she says she isn't running from him, now she has seen three other Mexicans, that use her for her house and money, then leave...whats her problem, i wouldn't care if he was mex, blk,wht/hindu/ what ever

How do you console your husband when his dad has been diagnosed with cancer? Call it blessed. Call it lucky, but I have been extremely fortunate with only one person in my my close family having a severe illness. So, I don't know quite what to say, what to do or anything to my husband while he deals with this. Help!

I have all day with my daughter and I want to do something fun together. It may seem like something that parents do every weekend but not for me. I work swing shift from 2:30pm to 11pm. My 6 yr. old daughter goes to school from 8am to 2:40pm so I dont see her during the days I work except for when i wake her up and get her ready for school. My days off are during the week so I do spend two afternoons/evenings with her out of the week. She spends weekends with her dad. For some wierd freakish mistake I am actually going to have this next Saturday off, even better, my daughter will be with me too! Im looking forward to it, and since this NEVER happens that I have a whole day to spend with her, I want to make the most I can out of this day. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do together? I dont want to spend the day just watching TV with her. And I thought about going to the park, but when we have done that she goes off and plays on her own while i sit on a bench.

i have 2.5 years of relationship with my girl friend, during this we also have physical relationship and we had a engagement with permission of our parents.Everything was find we were about to get married 4months back. Some how we had a aurgument over the phone were she abuse my parents and i reacted n same way. Later she started thinking that i belive she had relationship with someone else other than me, which i knew was not true.I tryed her contacting many time which she decline we have few converstaion over the phone she use to speak nicely for few days saying i need time to think and after two or three she use to change mind or stop commnicating not taking call or zero converstaion. Few days when i spoke to her she said i dont trust you as before so stop troubling me again? Can anyone help in how to slove this problem.

I'm 14 years old. My parents have been together for 17 years and have 7 kids, me being the oldest. They rarely get to go on dates just the two of them. i want to get them a $25-$30 giftcard to either the movies or a restaraunt. I can't afford to get both but I don't have any idea which one they would like to do best. What do you think?

ok, she is the oldest of us 3 and ahe gets to go eveywhere with my aunt and uncle and it bothers me!! because my aunt says she wants to spend more time with us but she nevers asks us to go anywhere(exept my older sisiter)and she says she wants us to mess with the horses. but the only thing she does with them is get really mad at them cause shes weird like that!! for example my birthday was in june and she was leaving for a horse trip on my birtday and i thought she was gonna take me for a birthday present but no she took my older sister, but at least i got to go to silver dollar city!! another example is that my sister had mono(a diese that if she fell she would bleed internally and die)and she was supposed to stay hame for two months, but that didnt stop my aunt from taking her to arkansas for 2 weeks!! I just got home from work, I was at work from 7 until 4 and honestly it has been a really long, exhausting week I am so tired and like pmsing a little bit. Okay my little brother is 10 years old. He still sleeps with my parents and he is afraid of going upstairs. I always keep calm wiht him, but ever since my mom left to CA to visit my Grandfather, he is really irritating. I know and kind of understand his fears. But like I think he might just be making up excuses. For example, he won't go change into his pajamas because he is afraid to go upstairs even if I go with him. My dad isnt very helpful (he justs yells at my brother). I dont want to be like that, but it is hard to refrain from anger. I mean like I have been spending time with him...like playing board games with him and playing outside with him, but none of it helps. He just cries (like literally) and runs to the sofa when I tell him to come upstairs to brush his teeth. It is so hard not to yell at him, I already have raised my voice once, and I am afraid to. Please help me
