Family - July 2006

My 10 day old daughter screams after every bottle she drinks. She is burping fine, but she seems like she is in pain. Her face gets really red, and she acts like she is having trouble having a bowel movement -- she pushes really hard, and grunts a lot, all while screaming. A friend told me that you could add Karo syrup to an infant's bottle to help "move things along". I'm just curious if this works, and if so, if anyone knows how much syrup to add to her bottle. She is pooping just fine, but it seems like she has to work so hard at it. The color and consistency hasn't changed from when she was in the hospital, and she didn't scream then. She is on the same formula that she was on in the hospital.

My family doesn't get why their fighting bothers me so much, and I want to be supportive of my sister and be on her side, but on the other hand my dad is partially right. I should stay out but I want my family to get along.

my daughters ,ages 8 and 6 are extremely bored at the moment....i just remeber being there age and not being so bored....i would go outside and play all day long...times change i guess.....does anyone have any suggestions on outside games for girls there age?

i was just noticing that the #1 reason people agree with abortion is that its the womans body..well thats true BUT does that give a man the right to go out and rape a girl?..after all its his body.of course not.and what about the men that wont the baby?.were is the justice for them?.for those of you that use the excuse that you couldn't deal with rape.i would find it easier to tell the child that i loved them no matter what happend to bring him in this world, then to have a later child find out or explain to them that i killed there sibling and have them ask why it wasnt them.and as for not being able to take care of them.there is nothing that God can't help no matter how hopeless it seems! i challange any one to stand there during an abortion and reasimble the body of a child that has been ripped apart or to hold an abortied baby thats been scalded to death with a saline solution while it struggles to take its last breath.its so sad that an unborn child has more since then some adults

The other day we were hanging out and she told me, out of nowhere, that noone would be dissapointed in me if I got prenant. And that noone was dissapointed that I dropped out of high school. I was wondering if anyone knows the Maine laws about siblings of the opposite sex sleeping in the same room? At what age do they have to have their own rooms? ok my dad got laid off right before christmas and now he's home ALL THE TIME and i was ok with him before, but now that he's here 24/7, he's driving me crazy! he's becoming more involved with my social life and took my cell away b/c he says i talk on it all day (even though i don't) and i can't use the house phone either. i love my dad, and i know that he's probably stressed b/c he can't get a job (even though he's kinda close to getting one) but i think i'm losing my mind! please help

I can't work because I'm too young. I alot do things around the house already but how can i get them to give me an allowance. All i want is a small one. Maybe 10 dollars a week... My fiance and I were arguent about moving out of state.He is from missori and he wants me to move out there onces he is done with the Navy.I told him that I don't want to go out there and he got so upset with me cause I told him before that I might go but I now change my mind.I had a bad expirence before, I moved out of state for this guy and things didn't work out. His family didn't like me and the relationship didn't work out like the way I tough. I am in need of advice. My sister is pregnant with her second child. She has asked me to watch her first child until the baby is born so that she can continue to work. She is very funny about leaving her with a sitter. I agreed to help, even though I recently started a business that is very successful. I am putting it on hold to help her. My husband says that I need to babysit here at my home (I have two chidlren as well) and this has made her mad. She would rather me get my two kids up and ready every day to take over to her house at 7:00am. Now, she won't let me take her daughter anywhere during the day. I was going to take all of the kids swimming tommorow, and she says it would be too much. I feel like the rest of my summer is going to be ruined because I can't take my kids anywhere to have fun. Am I being selfish? She said that she would continue to look for a sitter, but when I mentioned it she got upset and said that she just has no one else. Advice? Suggestions?

my brother is a BIG show off in front of other people. he acts as if he's tougher than me and smarter, and he's only 8, i'm 12. i don't do ANYTHING to him, and my mom doesn't do anything about it! his behiavior is really embarrassing. he always wants to go places i go to w/ my friends and he always gets his way and acts like a brat. what do i do? i cant live w/ this!!!

The other day I was tidying up my bathroom, and had my stereo on to a hip-hop/rap station. The volume wasn't up really loud or anything, either.

My father came up the stairs, heard the song, and instantly said, "You're not listening to that type of music, are you?" I opened my mouth to say, "No, of course not," but then I realized that what type of music I listen to is my choice, not his, and instead responded, "Yeah, I am."

Both my parents dislike rap, and are now constantly lecturing me because I actually listen to it and like it. They also seem to dislike country, and really any type of music that doesn't fit into their preferred genres of oldies and classic rock. I listen to more a varied selection of music, so we often disagree on music choices.

So my questions are, how much should I let them influence me, and how can I get them to realize that it's okay for me not to like the same types of music as them?

About every day and weekend when my parents have to go out, i have to watch him and make sure he eats and bathes and do his homework.
Im no way jealous of him but i think he is really spoiled. Im about 6 years older than him 18 and he is 12. I dont even have much of a life becasue of him all i do is school, work then, home. when my parents come home from work, they would be so angry with me if there was a slight mess that he made. Im tired of constantly having to watch him every three seconds to see if he is not making a mess. im tired of him demanding me to feed him. He is freaking 12! im sure he can put some food in the microwave, and im sure he can clean up after himself with whatever he does! i try to teach him to do things for himself but all he does is get fustrated and cry. i try to talk to my parnents about him but they dont even take me serously. when i was 8 i was pretty much independant and my parents never had to say a word. Can somene give me some advice before i go nuts?
