A nice picture book about the natural and man made attractions and a guide book on all the insects, bugs and other critters that infest every corner of that island - some of them quite venomous - and the name of Australia's no 1 job site www.seek.com.au

A book of all the poisonous insects & arachnids. During my 200 visit to Sydney, for the Olympics, I encountered a fruit spider in my room at the hostel (in Redfern) - I had no idea what it was & whether it was dangerous - and I live in Arizona !

A bible. Australia is not very religious so make sure they have one before they get there. Everything else they can buy there.

Well, I can tell you what not to give them...A case of Foster's, a stuffed Koala, or anything that says "I'm American." Just because they speak english does not mean they like you.
