Family - June 2006

I work part time and my husband works also, my mother in law takes care of my kids, and everytime I go to work or come back from work she is just sitting there. I mean literaly sitting there she watches tv all day long and let's my kids do what ever they want they are only 1 and 2 so they are always up to something I have told my husband that she needs to get up and so something or we need to take the kids to a day care. Not only does she sit and do nothing she will give my kids soda, cookies and candy I am so fed up with her!! Should I just take my kids to a day care or not pay her, oh yeah and to top if off we pay her per week so I feel like I am paying her to sit on her *** all day long!!

I knew my husband had the kids when I married him. I did not know that they lied and stole like they do. They are 9,10, and 11. They have not been made to mind and are constantly in trouble at home and school. He says I am too hard on them but I made my kids mind and they have turned out good. The oldest has alot of mental or whatever problems. He is seeing a counselor and the counselor says they are rebelling because their mother left them and that is why they lie. They see their mother everyother weekend and every Wednesday. Other kids have been through worse and turned out ok. What do I do and where do I turn? I am loosing my mind.

He gets us into trouble with our money by not paying the bills and gets mad at me for wanting to pay them. I do not like owing people and I definetly don't like having my things pawned without my knowing it. What am I to do???

I have been helping my daughter thru child support and college. She e-mails me when she needs money. She does not call on father's day or my birthday. She has many excuses. She failed many time and I give her another chance. I believe she is taking advantage of me and I should cut her off, so she can learn how to care for herself.

She is failing in college, so she is just spending my money on drop out courses.
I tried to be with her while growing up, but she was busy with her friends and no time for me.
She is 21, so if no college success, she better learn on her own

for my Dad for his birthday? He is turning 61 (he is active, and does not look 61 at all), and pretty much has anything you would want. I cannot think of anything to give him. I really don't like her! We are so different and even my husband calls her a "redneck". She is not educated and we have NOTHING in common. She thinks I should do all the cleaning and cooking (my husband and both work full time) and makes rude comments all the time. She comes to visits for several nights, several times of the year. I get so angry when she comes to visit and my husband understands and is very supportive. I am 29 and have for years done ALL the cooking a Chrismas gatherings, Thanksgiving and everyother visit of hers. She is lazy and doesn't do anything to help when she is here. My boyfriend and I had our first child two years ago. Since then everything that we got him like the bouncer,crib,bottles,etc is in our hall closet, my son's closet in his room, and our bedroom. We live in a cramp 2 bedroom apartment. I'm about to finish my last year of school. I want to start building up my career. Who is going to hire a pregnant woman with a degree. We just got custody of his older son who is moving in next week which mean now will be paying two of everything. Please don't forget how expensive child care is. on his girlfriend, he's planning to get his 4th car, he doesn't have any idea where his money goes. I want to teach him a lesson an pay 1/4 of our mortgage. My husband disagrees....won't talk to me about it. My son doesn't help out with grocery. I tell him to do house chores he complains. He doesn't do anything without being told not unless it has to do with his girlfriend, she comes first. His family comes last in my opinion. I am a 36 year old woman that has been is college for 3 years now. I cant get a job full time to help with the bills I can only work part time at jobs that will work around my school schedule, so they dont pay much, I have 2 kids that I homeschool and they miss me cause I am gone so much, and i am just burning out i think because the degree that i am going for is 4 more years. I feel so guilty like i should just forget school and work and stay home. i dont mind staying home and i miss so much of my kids life. what should i do? forget school or stick it out.

My father has always been tight since I was a youngster. I'm 17 and on the 2nd yr of college. My school is 30 km away from home, and I have to ride a 120-km/hr speeding jeepney just so I can go to school. There's no other transportation that offers slower pace than that unless I ride a motorcycle which is more dangerous!
There's a dormitory at our school but my father won't allow me either. He's too afraid something or someone might tempt me. Fearing the unexpected miracle of pregnancy, he prefers my hazardous travelling better.

How can I explain it to him that he should trust me; that I feel sloppy after arriving at school and can't concentrate on my studies well??

I had a baby two months ago and my sister in law has been telling me what to with the baby. She has two olders kids and i never tell her what to do with her kids. She will call me on the phone and ask me questions and then after i respond she will say will want to do this and that and i dont agree with everything she says cause my husband and I have our own plans on how we want to raise our baby. My baby sleeps in the bassinet part of a pack and play for now cause i am breastfeeding and it makes its easier at night for me and she tells people she cant believe that my husband and I do that like its a terrible thing.She also insists on being the babies godmother and my husband and I have someone that we picked out a while ago. She says she will not talk to us again if we dont let her be the godmother. How should I handle this?
