Tell me what you think of this poem i wrote for my dad
(his Christmas Present)

My Old man

My old man if an old man of that
He’s loosing his hair for a matter of fact
He’s gaining a little more, so he’s not so flat

His personality has stayed the same
He still knows how to keep things tame
He knows how to make me laugh
Especially when I’m going through a rough patch.
Even if I don’t always listen to him when he’s giving me advice
I always think back later and think of how he really does try

I would like to thank him for all the things he buys
And for all the merchandise.
He gives me everything I need
As long as I keep our room clean

He made me watch all the Wild West Movies
And although some may be mucky
When ever I see one at the movie store I go
“Eh, I bet It’s not as good as The Good, Bad and the Ugly.”

You see I love my old man
And think he’s a pretty swell guy
So if you ask me I’d say
“I thank my Pop, for the wonderful life.”

Well, I found a friend that I new in college from the Reunion site. I was so looking forward to hearing from her. She called and started sharing with me about HER LIFE ONLY. It was all one sided. What is odd that I realized she was a poor me person and that know matter what happen in my life did not matter. She met me at the mall one day and we had lunch, I was thinking it just she had not seen me in 40 years, but she could not let go, she stood in the Main Store crying about me leaving her there and that the person I was meeting later did not matter but her. What Kind of friendship is that?

The hidden phone numbers (Listed as department at her work) the text messages arranging a meeting,( Younger man at her work), even the smell in her hair and between her legs one night. It is all explained away by her logically. I know she has cheated on me, I have enough evidence to confirm it but it appears that even a photo of her doing the thing would not get admission or remorse from her. I have tried to keep my faith in her. She will not admit to anything and after two years my self esteem has disolved, I have no trust in her and depression haunts my every day. I cant hold down a job and have gone form a warm caring man to one who is bitter and angry everyday. I dont sleep and my health is deteriorating.
The question is after two years of trying how do I get her to admit to it and start to help repair this marriage (and my life) or is it time to jus bale out.
I always felt that her admission, regret and appology would restore some value to this marriage and trust to our life.

He is generally rude, and disrespectful to most people.

I try to ignore him, or look away in another direction, but upon glancing at him I feel a strong connection of liking him, and I force my heart not to like him. Who can truly answer this? How can one force one's heart not to like someone? Is this nature or what would you call it.

In my mind I know he is not good, but my heart otherwise.

Was once again blasting and singing along to Garth Brooks and other various horrid Country songs.

I've asked him to turn it down before and his words were with his thick Southern accent "Up yoo's ya dumb youngster, in me dass we blassed Country musac, not that Heavay Mental bull hokie that you lisan too"

and we've been going out for 2 months now..
i know he's preety serious with me and he always likes to spend time with me..
Me, im that kind of person who like to have a little space from time to time,..and i have told hi dat.

in the morning..Ok 1 day some of the guys(which he knows to and we've hung around with)..asked me if i wanted to hang out,..so i did. and i tried calling him but he wouldnt pick up.so i just went. then around 11pm..i was still with the guys playin pool. he called me and while i was asking how his day went and he just hung up on me. I only did it because a lot of stuff is going on and I couldn't balance a boyfriend at the same time.
After I did it he started acting really cold then he just became a full-on jerk, this was about 3 days ago.
I've tried to talk to him and explain but he says it's a stupid reason and that he hates me.
It really hurts because he's changed so much and I want the old him back, but he's said that he's not changing back.
I don't know what to do now, he doesn't understand and he's made me cry at least 4 times since I broke up with him from being so cold... what can I do... what should I do now???

I am in high school i am also a freshman.I only have 5 friends.4 of them are bad influences on me and sometimes i spend some weekends drink and smoking weed. But lately I don't wonna do that every weekend. So i wonna hang out with more people on the weekend so i don't smoke as much weed.Other people at school don't trust me cause i got kicked out of middle school for smoking weed but im not sure how many people know of it and i feel like i can't talk to them cause they might already have a opinion of me. And everyone is already in groups so i feel i cant talk to them. My social skills have gone down the toilet since i got comfortable around 5 kids. I don't wonna hang out with potheads as much as i do now

Ok, so i am in high school and i just met a gu i really really like. we connect very well and have a lot of the same morals and stuff and i would really like to try my chances with him. O.k. so i like this guy who is tottaly popular, sometimes i think he likes me but other times i feel like he doesn't know who i am. I am a 13 year old female who is experiencing problems with an alcoholic father. Ever since my mother left he has been relying on drinks to make him happy.

Everyday when I come home from school my father is heavily drunk. He immediately yells at me for the most unimportant reasons, i.e.; (I am 1 or 2 minutes late because of the school bus) He will nag on for sometimes a whole hour, repeating himself over and over again, and strike me with his belt or shove me into a wall. He sprained our dog’s ankle last week when he was upset and pushed him down a flight of stairs.

It is obviously my parent’s house, not mine. I have no authority over my father's actions, or his decisions to drink alcohol. I was just wondering if there is an appropriate way to confront my father about the issue, without abusing my privileges and overstepping my boundaries as a teenager.

I have no relatives to contact, as my father has isolated himself from the outside world, all of them have grown distant or given up completely

My son is getting married soon to a wonderful gal whom we love like a daughter. Her family on the other hand has a strange problem with ours. They think we are TOO TALL. They are on the short side with her father being 5'6" and her mother is 5'2". She is 5'4". My son is 6'1 as is his Dad and brother and I am 5'9". I think that this is a very strange thing to have an issue about. When ever we come together as a family to have a supper or something at my son and his girlfriend's home, they go on and on about how tall our family is. It is annoying and to us, shouldn't make any difference. What is going on here? Her father is really upset about our height.
