My friends keep telling me that i am so stupid 4 spending 4,000 on........?

ok today i told my friends that a while back that i had gave 4,000 dollars to a charity for children with cancer and i told them i felt good when i gave it but they told me that i should have spent it on shopping and all that but i told them that i would rather give all my money to a chraity then spend it all to my self.but now they always call me stupid because of the charity thing and i don't know what to say or do. and they r the kind of the girls who don't care nothing but them selfs.and they won't stop calling my stupid or dumb. HELP.

i am 14 by the way.

and also i love to help people anywhere and i always like to help my parents pay.

Tell them your priorities are in a different place than theirs are. They're obviously infatuated with things that won't matter in a few years.

After all, the donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You can tell them that with the money you'll be getting back, you can go shopping.

First off, where does a 14 year old get 4000 $ to give away or do anything with? But other than that, you need to tell your friends that you are just more mature than they are, and have better things to do than go shopping all the time, and if they can't respect your dicisions, especially when it comes to your $, and not critisize you then don't be around them, and make sure you speak up and let them know why your not associating with them anymore. They deserve to hear the truth, cause friends don't do friends like that.

If you have that kind of money that you can donate it to such a worthy cause, good for you. However, if you need the money for basic needs such as rent, food, education, etc. then you are being a bit foolish. I would never call you stupid but sometimes charity has to start at home. I also would look for new friends because these gals don't seem to be on the same level as you. Good luck in your future.

wow you are such a good person :] we need more people like you in the world seriously and im 14 too. if i had 4,000 dollars right now i would give have of it too charity, maybe you should get new friends because i wouldnt be able to deal with people like that. lol well your friends may have different values -- maybe selfish too but hey thats just how they are. i don't think its stupid. they're pretty stupid. if they would rather shop and they would publicly talk about that they have nothing to be proud of. if youre 14 and you;ve done that you have a very big heart unlike them. if it bothers you that much i learned the best way to make someone leave you alone about something is to crack a joke back on them. when they say something like "haha you spent 4000 dollars on charity" just be like "haha yeah but i don't think being selfish is my thing..if its yours it fine but you know..." play it off like that - they probably will stop. i know it sounds mean cause theyre your friends but you don't want to sit down and talk it out, they probably wont take you seriously. they sound like 14 year olds you know? you're obviously very mature for your age. they may not see things the way you do for that reason. they will understand later in life. theyre 14 year old girls who like clothes..its understandable. you may think my way is a little mean but sometimes its better to tell them how you feel as a joke so they KNOW it is bothering you but you wont be making a scene about it or trying to make them understand. just make them shutup. =)

Tell them this story the next time they bug you: Camilla was a girl in the grade below me who developed cancer in 4th grade. Unfortunately, she passed away last spring after a long, painful battle with her disease. Thank you because your money helped her and others like her have a more bearable experience with this horrible disease. And if your friends don't respect you asking them to stop it, tell them to shove it because they obviously don't respect you or people like Camilla.

.ask ur friends this if they got cancer and the docs dont have money to research about it would they rather die or hope some one donates money u did they rite thing!!!!!! they mite give u an answer of WATEVER but u would leave a thought in there head trust me!
