yesterday was my mothers birthday and i went all out for her baked her a cake card dinner and all she showed no appreciation at all if anything she was rather cold might i add this is not the first cold shoulder all i do for her is not right in her eyes when all i have ever done is good.i am at my wits end what should i do?

I love my girlfriend very much. In the past, she used to talk continuously to me and not anyone else, but that time, we dint used to go out. Now, a few weeks back, another guy proposed her. I am 17 years old, black, male and in highschool. I hate gangster rap music and people who don't take education seriously. I am trying to break a majority of my people free from mental enslavement. I go to a school were so many people that look like me act stupid, thuggish. I try to talk to them about black pride, the history of africa, education and they just brush me of and make fun of me. When I say I hate gangsta rap, they look at me like I have two heads. I go to a school in the inner city because my mom can't afoord private schools. But yet they can't name an ancient black society off of the top of their head. My people constantly fuss over " light skin" vs dark "skin", " good hair", wtf?. They are brainwashed, and I can't reach them. When can black people unite and stop european standards of beauty? I think the white power structure that promotes rap doesn't want to see rap go away because there making too much money. I have joined an organization's promoting black youth's

He makes a comment about me having to wear a wig if I were to hypotheticallty cut my hair. It sounded shallow so I said so, and he gets upset and says he's never been shallow in his life. The next day when I bring it up he says he was joking about the wig comment, but I felt that his tone proved otherwise, because unlike him I know a joke when I hear one. I think he is trying to accomodate me by saying the right things but all I want is for him to be honest. I told him that I didn't believe him, and now he thinks that I'm upset about the "joke" that was made. I'm upset because only when I brought up the shallow comment the next day, he changed his story around to get out of the hot seat which makes me believe that he's lying. If someone's upset at a joke you make, wouldn't you try to nip an argument in the bud and proclaim " Hey I'm just joking. There's no need to get upset ? " I think he's just stupid because I've explained to him in a letter and texts what the issue is. Comments?

I hear so many couples having problems when it comes time to buy a wedding ring. The men are looking for something to say I am married a simple gold band and the woman want Fort Knox. Will a bigger ring make your marriage better? and why do so many people go into debt over a 5 minute wedding ceremony. For those of you who have never attended a wedding or been married yes it is not long at all with the actual bride and groom. Does anyone know the ansewers to these questions? Why not put some of this money into the future of the marriage?

My boyfriend of 4 years watches porn behind my back. I think it's disgusting. I also hate how people say that it's alright and "natural" for men and women to view porn when their in a relationship. I don't understand how people can think that. They're watching other people have sex... I hate that people (guys in particular) try to justify it because they just dont know the people having sex on the screen. They could be your neighbors... I dont know. Am I wrong to feel this? It tears me up inside knowing that he's being aroused by other women. We never have sex anymore. I've tried everything. And I'm very attractive, I know I am. I was trying to look up a website I had viewed earlier this week for my psychology class on his computer because I forgot the URL and I saw a bunch of Porno sites like "Do my wife" blah blah blah... We are always learning in life.

Can someone please help me out?

I am married to a wonderful woman. When we first met, she had tons of guy friends - some of which I was not to fond of persoanlly. With not liking them, I told her that I did not want her talking to all these guys while we were together; she agreed and stopped telling all them she loves each of them and so forth. However, that has nothing to do with my problem/question. Lately, she and I have been doing great while in the house; in contrast of that statement, everytime we decide to go out together, we fight about fifteen minutes after leaving. I feel she is not respecting me many of the times; however, she always tells me that I am being rude to her. She always gives me attitude which really eats away at me. My question and concern is this below.

What can be done to mend the relationship and not fight constantly when outside? It is getting old.

Oh by the way, we have been together for a year now.

Help me???

Is it because I use foul language? Is it because when the waitor ask's us what we wan't I always reply with "WHAT?"? Is it because I always have to drink a beer? Well most guys wont get this i dont think well anyway, i have been looking to the past alot and thinking about my last girlfriend and it has been like 3 months since we broke up and i dont know what to do.
