I admit I do not help with any work at home. My wife does it all and she does work full time. I work 4 days a week and have the option of working any overtime I want. My wife on the other hand does have to drive around 500 miles a week to/from work while my commute totals about 80 per week. She also makes a lot less than me. She sat down with me & gave me some options that I don't like but she is being stubborn. Either I start pitching in and helping on my days off OR she is quitting work and I can work 2 days of overtime a month which will make up for what she was bringing home. She says that it would beneift us more if she stopped working and I worked 2 extra days because it would cut back on insurance since the mileage would go down & with the cost of gas right now it is eating into what she makes. But she said she would keep working only if I help around here. I work hard at my job (physical) & I don't want to work at home on my days off & I don't want to work overtime. Am I wrong?

My mother has heard horror stories about nursing homes. Her hairdresser said she has to go every evening to feed her mother as the staff doesn't have time. Some friends said the more visitors you have the better care you get. Another person told her if you always have candy or cookies to pass out to the staff they come in your room more often to "check on you". Mom is afraid that when the time comes she will be neglated or abused. How do we answer her? The few visits we've had to different homes we've seen people sitting around in chairs staring at walls or appearing to be doped up.

Okay, this is an extension to an earlier question.
Some background: I'm 22 years old and after I finished college, I started working at a newspaper in my home town. The rule in my home is that you do not move out unless you're married or working in another town/city. So now I'm staying at my parent's house. I feel this is the best until I find my feet. I've already applied for other jobs in another city. This shows my need to get out of my parents' house. My sister is 6 years older than me. She has a great job and an even better salary.
Now the problem: She's also still staying at my parents's house. She refuses to leave!!! I mean, I can't wait to get out, and she wants to stay there. And that's not all. She earns almost three times the amount I am, but she's forever borrowing money from my mom. AND... never pays back!!! How can I kick her out of the nest without hurting her feelings... or her butt.

They gave told her to hire an attorney and that they would send him the money for court.....she is not good with money so they sent it directly to him. We are court ordered to pay an amount every month and have cancelled checks showing what we pay. My question is this....since she lied, are we going to be able to recoup the court costs and attorney fees for this? This is not the first time she has pulled this.....$1,000 - at Christmas time no less......realy very wrong.

Here's the deal: when I'm with my usual friends or people I know well, I'm always talkative, outgoing, etc. and they absolutely love me.

But when friends try to introduce me to some of their other friends or when just meeting new people in general, I get incredibly shy. I won't talk until someone talks to me, and even then I reply with boring answers.

That /really/ bugs me because I come off as a really boring person and I'm not actually like that.

So how do I cure this curse?

Hi I have been married for 2 years and my husband has being married before,
when he divorced his wife they had some outstanding debts she had a personal loan of 8,000 and they had a joint loan together of 30,000 my husband said he would keep up the payments on the joint loan, this was not listed in the divorce it was just a mutual agreement noting was said about her loan as it was in her name.

he pays csa to his ex which she only receives £10 per week of as she is on benefits (which really does my head in ) as we pay nearly £400 per month!!

Anyway yesterday we received a ltter from her solicitor saying that she had being sent a letter by a debt collection company for the outstanding amount which she has told the solicitor my husband agreed to pay and they now want the money from us!!!
They have being divorced for nearly 5 years he never agreed to that can they really make us pay it??? I can't believe she has done this as we all get on well now she has blown that for good.

I have been told on several occastions, that I don't give a person a chance to finish his or her story. Its like I don't even realize I'm doing this, and I do try very hard to listen before speaking.

Everytime I have a problem with school or with a boyfriend, I've never been able to talk to my mom. Honestly, I think it's easier to talk to a complete stranger. I can go to her crying and asking for advice and either a.) She walks away, shaking her head or b.) says "Christina, What exactly do you expect me to do about it.?" My mom has never been the one to "show" love, but she provides us with the things we need so I guess I shouldn't complain, but there is so many things that I have concerns about and I know she is busy with four kids and two jobs. She does make me feel like one less kid (me) might make it easier. I'm 16 and I do have another place to stay, but she keeps me around for who-knows-what. I'm not whining but I feel like I'm in the way like a problem child. <--( whole different subject itself).. I just don't know what to do anymore, I have gave up trying to talk to her.

We are three children. My sis, the eldest, is 28 years old and my brother is two years younger than me, making him 20. From an early age, I have learnt to share everything with my bro. We were kind of brought up as twins - being treated equally. But he was just spoiled more, being my parents' only son and the youngest to boot. That has never been a problem for my sis and I and we spoiled him also. However, recently things have changed. He always gets his way, whether it's my car, money or just the tv. When we complained to my parents, they tried to punish him if he forces his way. But I fear it was in vain. He just continues doing what he wants. Now they have started to emotionally punish him, calling him names and stuff, and my sis also participates in this. I've tried the reasonal approach but nothing seems to work.
Please help

Things haven't been going well recently, she caught me cheating with a younger woman and I think that the trust between us has been damaged in some way. The sex has never been great between us, although she does her best to keep up. This is what probably made me look elsewhere in the first place (am I being unreasonable?). I’m thinking of doing something to put the WOW factor back into our relationship but I’m having difficulty deciding what would be best. Any suggestions?

Okay get your minds out of the gutter. I'm wondering about diamonds!

I'll be purchasing an engagement ring here soon and I'm dreading it. It's not because I don't want to get married, it's just that the price of diamonds seems so grossly overexaggerated.

Anyhow, I would like to get a colorless of near colorless very good to ideal cut ston that's VS2 or better. Considering that this would be a fairly high quality diamond what size is a good size? Is under a carat too small for an engagement ring?

I want to make sure that I get my soon to be fiance something she will be proud of and happy with for years to come, but I want to make sure that I can still cover my mortgage and all of the bills.

I went out on Friday and a stranger guy approached me and gave me his number. He seemed decent/nice and cute... I talked to him on the phone today and he seemed nice. He said he's 30 years old... even though he looked younger and I'm 18... and he said he's attracted to me and that's why he gave me his number. Is it a good idea to go out with him? I never went out with anyone before. Should I do it? And to those who just say no... please think that no men approached me before especially my age... I never dated and I'm pissed off that the the boys my age always stare at me and sometimes smile but they never ask me out. He seems decent and cute... He told me he never approached a girl like that before and that he thought I was beautiful and he didn't know what made him approach me but something pushed him.. So should I go out with him?
