I am 17 years old, black, male and in highschool. I hate gangster rap music and people who don't take education seriously. I am trying to break a majority of my people free from mental enslavement. I go to a school were so many people that look like me act stupid, thuggish. I try to talk to them about black pride, the history of africa, education and they just brush me of and make fun of me. When I say I hate gangsta rap, they look at me like I have two heads. I go to a school in the inner city because my mom can't afoord private schools. But yet they can't name an ancient black society off of the top of their head. My people constantly fuss over " light skin" vs dark "skin", " good hair", wtf?. They are brainwashed, and I can't reach them. When can black people unite and stop european standards of beauty? I think the white power structure that promotes rap doesn't want to see rap go away because there making too much money. I have joined an organization's promoting black youth's

We need a revolution, new black leaders that promote economic black nationalism instead of *** kissers like Al Sharpton and Jesse who are nothing but string puppets to white liberals. Al Sharpton has no pride, he straighten his hair

Well let me say one black male to another that I understand what you are saying, but you cannot change other people they have to come learn for themselves. Now you can buy some Public Enenmy CD's and let them hear a different side of rap music. It is not the white power structure it is the rap artist who are rapping on what they feel will sell, Most major rappers have their own label. We have to take responsiblity for our own greed for money and lack of self respect.
