Did you explain it was due to a medical problem?

Sincerely apologise for whatever mistake you've committed. but remember, apology is only the first and easiest step, if you truly mean what you say. The harder part is making consistently sure that you won't be committing that same mistake which you've dealt against the person. If through the course of time you've re-established yourself as a trustworthy person, then things will head towards the right direction.

Of course, mistakes of the past will always remain an artifact and may never be completely revoked (unless we're talking of amnesia), and may even come up someday. but that is the price we pay for mistakes.

But again, greatly reassuring somebody (and acting upon this assurace and showing that you mean it) will ultimately restore the confidence that one has on you.

you dont have to overdo or strain yourself to gain trust. if the medicines has controlled your mood swings, and if you are confident in yourself, the situations in your life itself would regain the trust of your gf, if she has the sense and the patience to understand u. she would also prove that she is worthy to be called, a friend !!

There isn't a guide to gaining someones trust because everyone is so different. If you really want to regain trust, you'll have to keep working on it and hope it works.
