yesterday was my mothers birthday and i went all out for her baked her a cake card dinner and all she showed no appreciation at all if anything she was rather cold might i add this is not the first cold shoulder all i do for her is not right in her eyes when all i have ever done is good.i am at my wits end what should i do?

Dear, Mother is the best gift of the god ever gave to the mankind,
Just try to find out what best she likes.
I think what you did was the traditionally right but might not be the choice of her or she is having some grevience with you,,
just hold her and hand and ask what she feel about you and your treat and let her speak all the way she think,,,
I am 100% sure you will never have your any of your question left in your mind.

It was my mums b'day too yesterday. It must be the starsign cause my mum is like that too.
I dont talk to her much at all anymore..
There is just no pleasing some people no matter what you do.
Dont live to please her do things for yourself, she will realise in the end what she has missed out on.

Stop wasting your time.....Start taking care of your self....Its not that she is not happy with you she is not happy with her self and until she can fix this she will not be happy with any thing....So live your life and at times try to talk to her.... My mother was this way too....And I gave her space and would check in with her every now and then....One day she called me up and asked me to go to lunch with her ... And we sat and talked for hours....We talked of her hurts and my hurts.and the rest of the family....And then she ask what can she do to change things...I told her to just start to love us and she took my advice and was semi happy till she died in 2000. Tell her you didn't have to do anything for her birthday so don't take that type of attitude with you.

Can you try to talk to her about it, let her know how you feel?
There's not much more you can do, you can't change someone if they don't want to change.

Stop worrying about whether she is happy or not. That is up to her. If she doesn't appreciate what you do stop doing it.
