For our wedding, we are having a canapes and drinks for guests around 5.30 in the afternoon. As we do not want to feel bloated before the wedding, what would be a good meal and what time to eat?

What have others done? (PS - We have no food allergies)

I wish I had found time to eat before. I would have had a nice salad with a little bread. No sandwiches with mustard, peanut butter, or anything smelly! No fast food because it slows you down immediately.

Light finger food only. Even a salad buffet would be nice. However remember you paid a lot of money to feed your guests and you dont want them filling up on canapes and drinks before the big meal...

My daughter is getting married in 20 days. Wedding is at 4, and I am serving finger sandwiches and fruit salad to the bride, groom and bridal party at around 1:00. I have a platter going to the place where the groomsman will be getting dressed and another to where the women will be getting dressed otherwise I just know none will eat and tummy's will be rumbling during the ceremony! lol.

skip the sandwiches and "real food" - especially anything fried

go for a salad or soup with a little bread (stay away from fats and "heavy" foods - they will bloat you up)
