Everytime I go outside, people always stare at me, and sometimes they compliment me... and does weird things, but they wouldn't approach me... I see a lot of nerdy/geeky girls with so many cute boys now, holding hands with each other, etc... And then there's the backstabber girls that I know and they always think about themselves... I'm 18 and I live in NYC, people outside said I'm pretty/beautiful/sexy... and I always say thank you and respond politely... So why is it that I can't get a boyfriend? Am I not good enough as the nerds/geeky girls? How can you all know that when none of you try to get to know me at all? You just stare at me from a far, and smile... but never be normal to approach me like you did with the other girls. I don't even know what to say anymore.

I don't have a pic but people tell me I look like the girl on the left and I dress like that too, my hair is also like that but darker.

A teacher and a student have an unspoken, unrevealed (even from each other), un-acted-upon attraction for one another. The teacher makes no additional leniences for the student beyond those given to any other student and shows no favoritism. After the course completes, the two individuals (both of legal age) contemplate (separately and/or privately from everyone, even from each other) initiating a romance. How long should the individuals let pass before approaching the other about the situation?

Alright so here's the deal. I really, really, really like this guy. I've known him for about three years now. We're pretty okay friends, we get along really good. Well recently he's been acting really weird, avoiding me, not talking to me, ignoring me. So I asked my friend to ask him what's up. She is a very trustworthy friend who is on the same terms with the guy that I am. I've known her since the second grade. Anyway, when she asked, his answer was 'I heard that she liked me liked me, and I don't like her that way so I wasn't talking to her because it would be awkward.' Not only do I really like this guy, but I value his friendship! I really want things to be okay with us. My friend already told him I don't like him, even though I do, but he STILL hasn't been talking to me! What's up with him, and WHAT DO I DO?

I am nice to this guy but haven't been leading him on AT ALL. Thing is- he's just desperate for a girlfriend. Well I am totally not into him and Never could be. I work with him and one night he kinda hinted. Next day asked me to a movie. I said "No thanks" and the next time I work wih him(which happens to be the NEXT DAY!) he asked me to a specififc movie. I said, no thanks. And he was like "What? you dont like..." and he said the actor's name. I mean what the h***!?! How can I say NO so he will GET IT? It is very obnxious.

They do look pretty and all but I always seem to see strapless dresses on the people who don't look good with that kind of dress. Why is it that we never even see off-the-shoulder straps anymore; much less, long-sleeved?

I'm a guy, and I've always wondered if a certain hairstyle really makes a person look good.

Whenever I get my hair done right, I always feel really confident throughout the day and feel good. But if I can't get it right that day I don't feel as good and sometimes I look like a totally person (to myself at least).

But do you think that's really true? Like if you take a really good looking guy and give him a crappy hairstyle is he all of a sudden not attractive?

I don't know. I know for a fact that I like how I look with certain hairstyles but I don't know if it actually makes a difference with the girls.

Well, it is that time of year again, and my JP is only three months away, and it is getting me thinking much.

Here's the situation: There is this girl that sits behind me in math, and we talk every now and then, but we have known each other for two years. I already have an idea of a way to ask her (something that involves a fold-up drawing card). But I need to know when is the best time to ask? I was thinking to ask her somewhere in December (like a few days before winter break), but is that too late, or is right now too early. Also, is it better to pop the question alone, or after the bell rings when the period ends?

I believe that a good friend of mine is making a big mistake by re-marrying too quicklly. Sadly I can not discuss the horrible details, however, I feel she is rushing into this marriage, only thinking about herself, not her kids. I have tried to talk to her, but she doesn't want to hear it. Any advice?

My friend and I kept laughing about our inside jokes and my other friend kept telling us to stop laughing because she felt left out. We never stopped laughing, so she threatened us with a knife. Everyone became freaked out, thinking that such minor things make her snap. How can I help her and how can everyone there cope with the fact that we could've died? Everyone there knows and feels like we will never be the same around each other, so what can we do to make all the pain go away?

I've been with my husband about 13 years, we have 2 children under 18. We don't fight alot but don't really like each other much. He has been telling me lately that he wants 100% freedom, maybe even a divorce so he doesn't feel tied down, but he wants to continue to live together.

My best guy friend divorced early this year. Next thing I know, he was with a woman that also left her relationship. They got together, broke up once, and have been back together for 2 months. In total, together 5 months. He just up and married her last week, and I had no idea until it was over. I told him he was crazy, as they barely knew each other still. He said they completed each other and are both happy. I told him it was wrong to bring her in over his small children so soon after the divorce, and I am sure I said some other hurtful things that I should have kept to myself. Has anyone ever done something like this and does it have much hope for lasting??
