Just ignore them.. They have no reason to be looking at him or you any differently.

Personally, I like seeing two people of different ethnicities (I dislike the word race) together. I get tired of seeing white people always with white people, black always with black, etc; It's always interesting to see their kids too, how the diverse features blend and mix, challenging and defying the very idea of race. I find it a beautiful thing.
That being said, not everyone would agree with my position, unfortunatly. Usually because of resentment of other ethnicities, or a mindset of seperatness from them, like the old "they are stealing our women" mentality. It's sad that people have such mentalities, but some still do.
The only thing you can do about it is ignore it, and maybe try spending more time around people who don't act this way, seperate yourself from the problem. Another idea may be just the opposite. If the men giving your husband dirty looks are people you know, it may pay to be around them more, let them become familiar with your husband. It can be easy to sneer at an impersonal stereotype such as a "race", but if you get to know someone personally, it becomes a different matter. Whichever option you use should depend on the situation, that is, on how well you know the offending people and whether or not the second is an option.
Anywho, I hope this helps, and God bless!

It all depends on what area you live in. I live in California, and we're all pretty mixed out here. It's hard to tell who is what nationality because if you're mixed, then no one can tell at times! Also, how do they know you're not with a very light-skinned Mexican man?
I could tell you to ignore it, but that's obviously easier said than done sometimes.
At times it might be that you're calling attention to yourselves by not feeling secure about your relationship. If you walk into a place and automatically expect people to look your way and give you dirty looks, that will generally happen. But if you don't pay attention to your surroundings or smile at everyone as you walk in, then sometimes it won't even happen.
Everyone is quick to judge on first appearances. Just take it with a grain of salt.

why didn't you think of this before saying i do. I'm sure your family talked to you about this. right? it sounds as if you're ashamed of your husband. maybe it's just you. after all it is hard to know what another person is thinking.
again such things don't bother me cause I'm white and i married a white woman just for that reason. alot of people find when they married outside their race that the pressure gets heavier. but I'm not against interracial couples, they should give the after affects a lot of deep thought. the kids suffer the most.
again there is no decision one can make without it involving someone else.
if animals wasn't smarter then people, this world would really be jacked up....
people hardly ever do that which is good for people. that's why the world is full of trouble.
i taught my kids to marry in their own race to reduce stress in their life, and to give their children a fighting chance, not because of anything else.
that's just my opinion and not the views of yahoo or anyone else associated with this site.

I am white and dated an Indian man for 2 years and people gave me dirty looks all the time. One man even came up to me in a restaurant and asked me why I was dating a terrorist!
Men AND women do this because they are ignorant. If you act like it doesn't bother you people will lay off some. Just keep your chin up and try to not let those people get to you!
Good luck!

Not at all. Quite the opposite. I think it's great that many of us couldn't care less what other people think about interracial couples. I think it's awesome to let your heart rule instead of worrying about not being accepted by a certain % of society. I know it's very difficult sometimes to ignore people's rudeness, but it's the only way to deal with it. It's not like you can go around fighting or aguing with everybody who gives your husband dirty looks. Just ignore them; don't give these people more importance by acknowledging their reaction to you guys being together.

First off, I love interracial relationships. Im jealous that I cant have one. Second, when guys of the same race as you give you looks, its cause they probably feel pissed. Like you direspected the hispanic culture by going out of the race to date another race. Ignore them. I dont think that skin color should stop anybody from dating. If two peolpe have chemistry between each other, then go for it.

NO! i don't be attentive to why that's such an argument in this freaking united states. i'm no longer unique from the U.S., inspite of the undeniable fact that having stay in different areas of the international it become no longer a huge DEAL. that's unlike we are breeding human and horses or maybe though. we are an identical, we reproduce toddler(ren) like the different race even though if we married eastern, Indian, African, or Caucasian. the only distinction is the form of life, traditions, languages.

I think this is a good question to ask your family since the "dirty looks" seem to be coming from hispanic men...try to understand the hispanic culture and what it means for a woman "like them" to reject men "like them"...I think that's where a lot of the sore feelings come from. It's like a rejection of one's own race. They see women who date outside of their race as trying to "date up" or deny who they are.
As far as I am concerned..I just IGnore it. Seriously. My hubby is arab and I am white, his family doesn't look kindly on me--necessarily--but I am who I am and just keep pushing though. It rolls right off of me because I don't see him as anything other than my husband and he doesn't see me as anything other than his wife.

It does not bother me. I would ignore those people. Maybe they are thinking that a white man took another of the good ones. Some people do think like that.
