I have a male friend who is going through a divorce right now. He and his wife were going to use the same lawyer, but after a few rifts, she decided to get her on. She agreed on a lump sum of $60,000, alimony/child support of $1,800 a month, and the house to settle out of court. He seems to think this is fair and doesn't want to take it to court. What do you all think? Should he fight it?

I tried to tell my husband last night that something he did was irritating me, and he interupted me and said "i think we should go to bed". I asked him why he would interupt me when i'm trying to tell him how I feel and he said " If I didn't, you would have went on all night and wind yourself up".

today at lunch, I told him that upset me, and his first response was "This is going to carry on into today? Oh, I bet this is going to be a 'wonderful' weeked" [sarcastically]

Everytime I try to tell him that I'm upset, he says we are arguing! So what, am I never supposed to tell him when I'm unhappy? I can't keep it all in, i'll explode..


I thought your husband was the one you're supposed to be able to vent to. Because if I don't vent, how am I supposed to get over it?

my moms best friend that shes known since they were in jr high recently told her her husband has been diagnosed with a disease that is really worsening each day.

we told my grandma about it and she said "oh well do susannes kids help out or are they too busy being teenagers?"

my mom asked her what she meant and this is what she said...

..."You know what i mean. teenagers dont think about anyone other than themselves and their friends."

i was shocked at hearing this considering i am a teenager and would drop everything to help my dad. i dont know of any teens personally that would go to the movies and ditch their dad who happens to be dying. i was very insulted by what she said and when i tried to talk to her about it she cut me off.

would you be insluted by this???

also, please keep my moms friend, her husband, and their five kids in your prayers.

Ok so I don't get along with my sister inlaws (5 of them) AT ALL! They don't like me and vice versa. My husband has never stood up to them for me which makes me mad.. finally I just cut them loose (about a year ago). He said I don't have to go to any family things.
Well about a month ago I went off on one SIL (just couldn't hold it in) not the right thing to do, but its done...and even told her she (and her fam) was the reason I want to divorce my husband (15 yrs)because I would rather not deal with anything anymore. I am already common law married to my fiance but like every girl I dream of being given away by my dad. Because we already have a baby together my mom is telling me what I can and can't have at my wedding because of tradition. She wants to invite people I don't know that well and my fiance doesn't know at all because she's helping pay for the wedding she can invite who she wants. My fiance is apprehensive about telling his parents about the wedding since they aren't exactly thrilled about me and the baby as it is, but my mom says she won't pay a dime on our wedding venue until his parents know. Right now I don't have the money to put down on the venue otherwise I would and I'm scared it will be taken by the time I have th money. Then my sisters who will be bridesmaids are telling me what they want their bridesmaids dresses to look like and that I better let them pick what they will wear. It's supposed to be my day shouldn't I have any say? How do I tell them nicely to back off? Help!

Am I wrong to think that my marriage of one year is over just because my husband has called me names before? He really hurt my feelings, and this is really starting to ruin my happy feelings about our marriage. He has apologized, but sometimes when we argue, he calls me names again. He never calls me these names when we are not arguing, but it still hurts bad. He has never hit me, but he may as well have, the way I feel. Please help!

My mom has degenerative disk disease and she has lost all hope of recovering. My step-dad has 2 spoiled rotten kids wich we all are forced to live with because of thier "abuseive" parents. My step-dad can't support us. I got a job and started helping with rent and bills. Now I want to go to school, AND move out but I can't until they get more income from disability or they find a cheaper place. I feel betrayed by my fiance. He didn't necessarily cheat on me, but he was DEFINATELY flirting with another girl [on myspace, telling her that she's beautiful, etc.]. I told him that it hurt me and that i feel it's disrespectful to me, and he agreed not to do it anymore. So I'm trying to get over it and just trust him, but i'm having a really hard time doing that. I keep thinking about it....i try really hard not to, but everytime he gets on the computer i think about it, and just at random times during the day/night.

How does depression affect a relationship? Do you find it difficult to communicate with the people in your life that you love the most, and find yourself cutting them out of your life? More specifically, have you had to end a relationship because of it, but couldn't bring yourself to communicate any further with that person even if they were offering support and help?? I've found myself in this situation, and don't know what to do to help him. I'm trying to be a friend to him, but he's not very responsive to me and I don't know if I should leave him be or keep offering support and letting him know I am there so he knows that I haven't abandoned him. I feel so trapped and suffocated right now. I am my last year of college and have a job...whenever I have free time I spend a lot of time with my mom. However, if I ever and i mean ever spend time with a friend my age or want to go out with a friend and do age appropriate things my mom says I have too much time on my hands and I should get another job.
