My b/f and I are definitely in love, but he has such high hopes, and I'm worried that it can't possibly last forever b/c of our views. He's catholic, i'm atheist, he hates homosexuality, I could care less, and love everyone, he's pro war, im anti-war, and we have different views on women's roles in society and in relationships. This barely scratches the surface, but for example: he HATES that a girl in a relationship would have guy friends, while I say what's the big deal? If you trust your girl then it shouldn't be a problem. I know i'm in love with him, and when none of these topics come up, we're great. But he really thinks we could be married one day, and I can't picture myself forever being with someone, led alone even ATTEMPTING to raise a child with someone when all of our major beliefs that make us who we are counter one another...has anyone made a relationship work under similar circumstances?

I've been separated for almost four years, and everyday my ex (he cheated on me) does more things to annoy me or hurt me. We have a 8 years old girl and that's the only reason I've tried to have a civilized relationship with him. I dont want to keep our wedding pictures (or any one from when we were dating), but I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing and wont regret it. Please help me. Thanks!!!

She does not return my phone calls and when I finally did pin her down she said she was busy. I'm not sure if I should give her some space or continue to call her once a week or what. She denies anything is wrong but she is very protective of her dad. And seems to be angry now about a divorce that happened when she was four? Any advice?

i was talking to my best friend about it and this is how she feels (shes very old fashioned about most things):

guys should pay when they go out with their girlfriends and if the girl offers to pay, they should insist otherwise
guys should always pull out the chair, open the car door, hold the door, etc.
its a guys responsibility to have safe sex (i think she meants like even if the girl doesnt want to????)
guys should insist on women being housewives and take care of them if they dont want to work
guys shouldnt be the "head of household" in a marriage
she also thinks guys are naturally weak so they shouldnt be held as accountable for cheating as a female would.....personally i disagree with everything she said other than the "head of household" thing. what do you think?

Okay after 4 years of marriage seperated for 6 months my husband has anger managment issues . I am getting a divorce though i have not told my husband yet.I have a daughter who is 5 yrs old from a prior relationship who has only seen her biological dad a hand full of times when she was a newborn. Her father does send her presents and transfers money every few months into my account. Her dad is a russian business man who travels a lot and is a bit cold in apperance(he spent time in russian prison).I think my divorce and move may be easier on her if her real dad and her meet possibly start a relationship?

I had my baby daughter 6 weeks ago, and I have a 5 year old . I don't stop all day or a lot of the night right now - I do the cooking, cleaning, shopping, driving and looking after the kids.

It's how I expected it to be with 2 kids, and I'm not complaining about that... it's my partner....

He just seems to take for granted everything I do, because he is the one who goes out and earns money. I can't for at least another year because there is no room in the local Playschool.

Here are examples:

When I say what I've made for dinner he says "Oh, OK" or "It's edible, I suppose"

When I say "Why don't you rest for a bit?" he always manages to make me feel guilty by saying "No time for that, I have to mop/sweep" (or whatever else I haven't managed to find time to do)

We were great before we had the baby, I feel like it's because I'm not bringing any money in now...

Help, has anyone else got through anything similar - How?

It really hurts and makes me feel useless...

I have been married for about 4 months now and we dated for 7 years before that. We have two children 4 and 10 months. I work on the weekends and stay home during the week with the kids. I work approx. 45 minutes from where I live so I stay at my parents house while I work. Usually its just overnight, but I bring the kids down with me so they can have time with their grandparents. My husband comes home from work, goes in the shower, then will go on the computer to play games for hours. WHen I am gone on the weekend he just sits home on the computer and when we come back home he helps me bring stuff in and then goes right back on the computer. ITs really a game he is playing, its not like he is online chatting he is playing World of the Warcraft. I dont know how to compete with a computer. Yes he did this before we were married but I thougth hed be sick of the game by now. HEs been playing it for almost a year. He truly cares more about this game then his family..

What goes wrong?

Is it society? People marrying for the wrong reasons? People letting go of themselves once they get married? Been together too long?

What is it?

This site is a great idea but I found myself lowering myself to the teenagers who frequent here. I found Answers to be great the first night I stumbled onto the site. But as the time past I found the CHILDISH questions and answers TOO much for me, But I'm quit shore a childish response will be given as soon as I submit this final whatever. If I can find another site that is similar I will join. Hey KIDS, HAVE FUN.

My other half does not want a girlfriend but does want someone to spend time with, do the do with occasionally and doesn't want to see other people - isn't that having a girlfriend but without saying I want a girlfriend.

There is this boy that I like and he is in my class. He asked me out and I said yes. But now he is ignoring me and not paying attention to me. Plus everyone else at school is telling me that he likes this other girl. Should I break up with him or ask him if it is true? I need some good advice. If you want to e-mail me at dolphincrazie@aol.com that is fine. THANKS!!
