I am looking for a wedding reception rental area near Gaston county because that is where I am to be married. I am looking for costs and details on wherever it will be and I plan to be married in February. Thanks.

How close are you to Charlotte? Gaston is a very big co--are you closer to McAdenville?

There are lots of golf courses in the area and you can have a beautiful reception at those. Cramer Mountain, Gastonia Municipal, Linwood Springs.

Or outdoor at Rankin Lake Park or near the lakes.

Also consider picking up Here Comes the Guide, in most bridal stores. I'd ask around as well. Are you getting married at a church? If so ask around by people at the church. Where have they had it? You dont want it to be too far from the wedding. I think a 45 min drive is too far so you'll want to keep it within 30 if possible.

Ask for recommedations. Bridal places have a ton and I'm sure you have friends who have recently been married that can give you some suggestions as well. Shriners Clubs are a really great idea--and thats where I had mine. Not to mention no matter how many people, you'll have plenty of room. Hotels are always a great idea, though a lil more expensive. The benefit is that you don't then have to go out looking for caterers as well and that they have a lot of rooms depending on how many people. A down side is that they will more than likely be having multiple weddings on the same day.

Also consider historical homes in the area. Call your local parks and rec division. A lot of historical homes rent out and I had my rehearsal dinner at one but it was far too small for my wedding. Do you plan to have dancing? Make sure you think about that when looking--will you need an additional dancefloor?

Figure out your guest list first so you'll know about how many people you will need the room to hold. What kind of wedding are you having? Outdoorsy, casual, formal and elegant? What is your vision? What was most important for me and my husband was dancing. Our guest list kept growing and shrinking but we needed at least room for 225, which knocked a lot of rooms out. I didn't want to be right at the cut off and feel crowded either b/c we wanted lots of room for dancing and that to be a central point, like a big party. So I went with the Shrine Club b/c it had a disco ball and I could circle the tables around the dance floor without it being crowded.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
