Priorities and how you approach them . . .

actually it's not hard once you develope
the idea.

some thing's must be taken serious so get
a pad and pencile and find a quiet spot in your house, then run through every thing in your life that you need and if you didn't have you couldn't survive, literaly . . .

i think you'll find besides food and shelter there isn't much else.

ok those are your priorities, next your

secondary priorites,

i assume your in school, and while your there then school is your home, so find
out what and who get's on your nerve
and why and if it's realy something you
want to put up with or is it just a waist of your time. and list that in your little book.

now your approach to all these things in
your life, do you go balistic when you feel there threatened and you might have to do with out them if that's the case then asses there value, and then either go with out them or take responsibility by finding a way to work these things into your life. like a schedual if you will. but the bottom line is this, eventually in this life you'll find that there are things that are in your control and things that are not and you can't do anything about it yet the world won't end becaues of it. So as for taking your self or these things to seriously, think of this . . .

just take it slow one day at a time, cause soon enough when your on your own and have your own family or a career, you'll have enough to worry about but if you practice useing these little tools now you'll be more in control later in life, cause you'll know what to and what not to take serious, it's all in knowing the differents between what you can make happen and what you must simply let happen . . .

It's pointless to worry about wheather or
not the sun will shine in california when you live on the east coast . . . you couldn't
change it any ways even if you did live in california now could you? . . .

good luck 2u . . .

It's good to be serious when you need to be, but you should also be able to laugh at yourself once in a while. Sometimes you just have to be goofy and have fun and not care so much about how you might "look" to someone else or what everyone might think of you. It's basically about being yourself and not trying so hard to always look "cool" or "punk",or whatever. As Marilyn Manson once said, "if you take yourself too seriously, you become a parody of yourself". So just be yourself.

It means you have to stop being an easy going person. You have to have a goal set for your future and start to work towards that goal.

It means leading your life for a better future.

Examples: stop going with friends and have an easy life - if you are a student, study hard. If you have finished a course, start to find a job and build a career and eventually a family.

Not taking yourself seriously means wasting your time and your whole life on unnecessary, temporary happy moments. Like going out with friends too much, spending too much time playing computer games or surfing the net.

Try to manage your time wisely and have a fruitful future.

It means recognizing your thoughts and emotions constantly change. You may feel "up" but soon you will feel "down". You may feel "down" but soon you will feel "up". So what?

How do you NOT take yourself seriously? Accept that your thoughts and emotions are beyond your control and always will be. Focus on the moment and try to enjoy the ride!

Life's ups and downs are inevitable. People who learn to NOT take themselves seriously enjoy the ups and don't sweat the downs. A down means an up is around the corner.

It means not to be up tight and just relax, live life, laugh and enjoy yourself. Taking yourself very seriously means you are like a robot basically.

Find the humor in every single day.
Realize that you are not the center of the universe.
Whenever you are down and out, realize how many people have it much much worse than you do.
Look for ways to make the lives of people around you better. Think twice before opening your mouth to complain.
Think twice before opening your mouth to say something negative about anyone.

It mean lighten up. Learn to laugh at yourself. Do not take yourself so serious that you can not take a good joke even at your expense.

life is hard to deal with. so sometimes you just have to laugh - even at yourself, because existence is so absurd. so for example, my fiance and i had a huge nasty fight. i wanted him to sleep on the couch - he refused. the fight was soooo nasty, i was so mean and he was a jerk. it hurt. but the next day we were actually really laughing at it - it was so intense that it was actually funny.

if you take yourself too seroiusly - you become stressed out, anxious, angry, bitter. if you just laugh at yourself - your foibles, fights, stresses, it really takes a load off.

some things that happen are horrible and serious (illness, divorce) and sometime when its happening its so awful you have to take it seriuosly. but even then, with the intensity passes, laughing at yourself is the best medicine. laughter helps make ill people heal, and gets your heart ready to love again after divorce.

good luck!

When you can't laugh at yourself......when someone gives you a little "dig" and you can't find the humor in it.

I don't like people that take themselves too seriously....I tend to stay away from them.
