Is it "normal" for parents to expect their children to grow up and be "successful" career wise? Shouldn't you love/support your child regardless of if he/she is a waiter/waitress or a doctor?

I guess what I'm wondering is...is it a part of a parent's "job" to make sure their children make it monetarily? Or is it something else...are expections healthy, or just something lacking in parent's life and they are projecting to children?

missin my ex boyfriend even no he broke my heart 5 tiimes so hard i was doin so wel its now been a month and he stils kals wen drunk at weekend i dont pick up, i hate it thos kant stay in at weekends have to go out and drink then ignore his calls

I started having a casual, sexual relationship with a friend about six weeks ago. I've known him about three years and he's always been a bit of a Jack the Lad while I've known him. We've started going out quite often together (just drinking) and I stay the night at his. He wants me to go away with him for a week to London in a couple of months to his friend's wedding. The other night he said he was "sort of falling for me". I want to believe it but don't know whether I should. What do you think from your own experience?

My bf of 9 mnths. broke up with me & said he doesnt love me anymore, he just wants to be best friends. A few days later I was out with my friends & he texted me constantly & finally when I got back with him he said it upset him that I didnt talk back & that he had missed talking to me. He says he just cares for me as a friend but still wants to talk everyday & hang out a few times a week. When we hang out we have a lot of fun...but it hurts cuz I love him so much. I think he still loves me, but needs some time to think...what do you think?

My husband and I are separating, his decision. He has moved out of the family home, then moved back in, then moved out, then moved back in..this time aggresively telling me it is his house too. I know people will say that I shouldn't let him, but he is a short tempered person and recently manhandled me leaving brusing on my arms. I am seeing a solicitor today, but how do I stop him abusing me. Last night he called me fat and lard ****..even though I have lost over 2 stone and he has always said my weight was never an issue (Istruggled losing the baby pounds) I feel emotionally and mentally exhausted. Why wont he just go if he is this unhappy with me. Last night he took our son and started saying to him how awful I was, and that mammy had a mental problem. My son is only 2, but understands alot. What can I do?

Details.. Im 16. He's a month younger. Been datin since February. He asked me to marry him a couple days ago. After visiting my gyno, I learned that my hymen is still intact, albeit slighlty stretched. I have been sexually active for some years but I guess mine is just really strong (and I'm sure that using lots of lube helps)!
