He has asked me out. I have liked him for a long while. What should I do? Will I tell about it to my female friend?

tell your friend that her ex is going out with you cause he said that she wasn't up to much in bed compared to you. That'll put her in her place

Lots of people will say no, don't go out with him. But hopefully, both you and your friend are mature enough to understand. The only potential problem you might have is that it may be awkward for you to hang out with him and your friend all together, especially if they had a long relationship. But it might also work out just fine--they obviously make better friends than lovers.
Naturally, you should talk about it to your female friend. It will bother you if you don't, and you don't need to act like you've done something wrong if you haven't. Chances are, she'll understand. You'll never know what she thinks if you don't ask.
The real question is, what will you regret? Will you regret not going out with the guy? Will you regret upsetting your friend?
Maybe you could ask your friend to make sure she's cool with it before you go out with the guy. Then I guess you have to decide from there...

Yes! your friend should know. But don't open it up by asking, i mean don't ask her if it's ok with her to go on a date with her ex, tell her that the guy asked you out. By her reaction you will know if it's going to be ok with her or not. Remember Friendship is important. They say boys come and go but friends stays forever.

Um, you should let your female friend know what's up. Even if she's upset, it'll be nothing compared to what'll it be like if she found out some other way.

Edit: She night be cool with it though and you can have a clear conscience.

It is your choice but really, is the ocean so small that you have to fish in the same pond as your friend? Frankly, I never feel comfortable going out with my friend's ex, sort of an awkward feeling!

It is never a good idea. You could loose your friend forever. I've always considered my friends ex-'s off limits!

If she's your true friend than the best thing to do is ask her. You should never disrespect your friend. Boys come and go, friends last forever.

"used to be" is the key phrase you're looking for.

so yup, go ahead. if your female friend pulls a fit...she's immature &/or hasnt really learned to let go.

the guy probably let of her cuz he fell for you. who knows, maybe he was jsut hanging with her to ge close to you.

talk to your friend first and find out how she feels about it. a guy is not worth losing a friend over.
