It's hard to tell someone who's extremely possessive that they are liable to make mistakes in judgement because their insecurities are firing up an episode of OCD. Once initiated the event will resemble jealousy mixed with paranoia. They don't believe you, and don't trust you, and are so jealous that your receiving somekind of attention, from any source, that they will insult everything about you, to make sure they are still in control of you, and the relationship. OCD people cannot tolerate someone who is happy go lucky, because not only can they not do that, they know that your doing -happy- because you have a secret agenda to ruin them. Your happiness becomes a threat to them, your success means they are failures. Bringing them flowers shows that you have found somekind of warmth and happiness ,and they will dispise you for it. What are you up too? Don't marry a possessive, you'll pay for your trust with despondency. Marry someone who loves to love you, and wants to be your playmate. Someone you bring the play out of. An orally obsessive, submissive sex fiend is what the AM radio recommends, but a demur, loving, lady love is easier to work out things with. Don't torture yourself.

No way. Your looking at a long life of misery. Trust is almost everything in a relationship. You will eventually feel like you can't breathe and you have to always walk on egg shells. You will lose who you are and become you they want you to be. You can't be happy living your life that way.

Lots of good answers here. I hope you listen to them all. Of course you can marry that person. But that would be a very stupid if you do. If you're hoping that a person will change in time, I think you'll be very disappointed.
