I like this guy at work a lot. I catch him looking at me but he really doesn't talk to me a lot. He will talk to everyone else but me it's simple conversation. Like "What are you going to do this weekend...really....uh huh" Then he will turn around and walk away. It is frustrating. I know he checks me out, I have caught him. But he just doesn't talk to me, like he talks with everyone else. It is obvious that he either likes me or hates me. Or he can tell I like him and just wants to stay away. Either way, I need some advice on what to do.

I'm engaged & we're very much in love, but we've got some issues that seriously need worked out... I mean, we've broken up and gotten back together 3 times in the three years since we first got together!!

I'm seeing a counselor through my college to help me deal with personal issues, and he suggested that we do couples therapy. My fiance is not too crazy about the idea... he talked to his friends & they said that if it's gotten to the point of therapy, it's over. Is that true?

Also, do you know any ways I can maybe talk my fiance into going to couples therapy??

Hey, I have a question for Muslim males only. Is it appropriate that a Muslim male you have just known ( about a month) askes you if u r a virgin, knowing that you are from a conservative family and well-behaved? Is he the doubtful type hard to deal with/? Doesn' t it mean he does not trust you?

I'm a Twentysomething. Many of my guy friends are about the same age and single. For a few of them, their lack of a significant other is absolutely unbearable -- and not just on Valentine's Day. These guys are constantly falling in love with women they barely know. One date, two dates, and then they use the "L" word after dessert and a movie.

What are they thinking?
I usually get a distressed phone call or text message a few days later when they can't understand why the woman they've just met (but know for sure they love) is not returning their calls. They've only left 41 messages -- and that's after another 16 hang-ups. Maybe their true love lost her cell phone? No. Maybe the Internet is broken four miles away? No. Maybe they should drive by her house to talk personally? Heck no.

After a few more weeks and a dozen more whiny messages, these relationship-needy guys get the hint -- and so does the girl: stay away from guys who fall in love before the appetizer gets cold.

For the next few weeks, my brokenhearted friends mope around like the world is over. They keep asking themselves why the relationship didn't work out. They thought she was perfect. They thought she would make a great wife. They thought she would make a great mother. Mother! They haven't even met her mother. They haven't spent a Thanksgiving dinner trapped at her parents' house to see what the family is really like. Yet they pine for this goddess of love whose middle name they do not know.

What has led these intelligent Twentysomething men to this position of neediness, clinginess, and recurring heartbreak? A few factors are at work.

Great expectations, instant gratification
Many Twentysomethings have grown up always getting what they want. They got the clothes they want. They got the car they want. They begged for better grades and got those, too. And they're used to getting what they want immediately and on their own terms. They expect to walk into a coffee shop and get their triple-cream-mocha-latte with sprinkles made just for them, with their name written in bold green marker on the side of the cup to prove it. They also get their favorite DVDs delivered directly to their home, their emails forwarded to their phone, and up-to-the-minute weather bulletins displayed on their computer screen. They even have the option to get fresh groceries delivered, but they won't because they can't cook unless Mom helps.

In addition to being raised on instant everything, these consistently head-over-heels-in-love and heartbroken Twentysomethings have huge expectations. The real world hasn't always gone the way they wanted -- instead of making CEO in a year they make 4,000 copies in a day -- but they use their 12 credit cards to fill the self-esteem gap. After all, who needs to buy a red 3 Series BMW with chrome rims when you can lease it?

The one area in particular where these frustrated Twentysomethings have not yielded their expectations is meeting that special someone, falling passionately in love, and spending a lifetime traveling the world while their kid's diapers are changed by a nanny (okay, so maybe that's my dream).

Now add to this mix of high expectations and instant gratification the reality that many Twentysomethings grew up spending little quality time with their parents. Instead, they learned how to have a healthy adult relationship watching a combination of He-Man and HBO. Luckily, their parents have a chance to make up for lost time, since these Twentysomethings still live with them. But mooching off Mom and Dad can only last so long, 35 at the max, which adds to the motivation to find that special someone who knows how to wash underwear without turning it pink. All of which leads back to them rushing into love on the first date and saying so on the third. And why not share the L word while you are in line for lunch at an all-you-can eat $6.99 Chinese buffet? Is anywhere else truly more romantic?

Advice for the lovelorn
Guys, if you're a Twentysomething and consistently heartbroken in three dates or less, here's some advice your friends are probably too nice to give you

i have little experience with guys. i wantto meet a normal NICE guy but i'm having trouble. i'm confused
Here's an example, is there something wrong with this guy? or is this NORMAL for how guys act? is this what i should expect from men?
Sometimes he will be flirtatious, give me full attention
other times he acts like he doesn't know me (before we ever got intimiate)
asks me if i have stds/if i'm "clean" during sex each time
will chat with me only if i initiate it (never blows me off) but he himself never initiates it
is "awkward" according to other people
seems really nervous around me in person when neither of us are drunk
admits "it's been a long time" in bed and other self-depriciating remark regarding small penis size (does this contribute to his personality?)
doesn't dress that fashionably or wear cologne
seems judgemental(?), and is a bit rude, thinks he is cooler than he is
was acting like he was doing me some favor talkin to me (so i no longer am talking to him..)

I just found out that my step-son and his girlfriend are about to have a baby. They had a shotgun wedding today, and I didn't even get a chance to participate. I don't know how to do a baby shower. And I sure don't know how to be a Grandma. Any advice is most welcomed.

Well, I feel so sad all the time for no reason... And at home ( I live with my great grandma) My great grandma is criticizing me all the time and saying I'm not normal and I'm weird and Strange. Also, she criticizes my friends on how they talk, look, eat, and other stuff. Which makes it worse. My great grandma has rarely EVER said anything nice to me. I don't want to live with her but if I don't I'll have to leave my friends, school, and more. I'm so sad all the time. what should I do?

My ex and I have 2 kids together ( 10 & 11 ). We were together 14 years. He left me 3 months ago. Here is the problem, my kids want to buy me a gift for my birthday on Saturday. He has the kids this weekend. The kids want him to take them shopping to get me a present. They want to pick something out and give it to me on Sunday when they come home. Do you think that their dad should take them to get me something? Or do you think he should tell them no? I have a feeling that when the kids ask him, he will say no. I know that will hurt their feelings.

Can someone explain Why it is that when a woman going through a divorce, the first thing they start talking about is They want half this and half that. Do you realize what you sound like to the world? Not trying to be rude but it sounds like you marry for materials anyway. I have been married for 19 years! If I got divorced, the last thing I would care about is, what I get. the house, car or Telivision! If I were to get divorced, I would gladly give my wife everything without her having to fight for anything. I do think the law should be change because of this So, if a woman files for a divorce then she walks with nothing unless the husband offers it to her. If the man files for a divorce then he walks with nothing unless she offered! More than likely he would walk with nothing because of how most women want everything while most men could care less. I know there are some cases where the woman has been through an abusive relationship and that's different. He should just walk head down.

I have been asked to get married by my girlfriend of 4 years and said yes, because I love her dearly. Our relationship has been very good in the first two years, but I think that it has become different. We have been intimate maybe once every 4-5 weeks for the past two years or so, and I am getting frustrated since my drive is much higher. I have talked to her, and she says she is just tired all the time. Our schedules are opposite, and we both work hard. Everyday when I come home, she will spend maybe 1 hour being awake with me and then pass out. She has said after we got engaged that I'd better want kids, or else the whole thing is off. The truth is, I don't really know if I want kids right now, I just want to focus on starting my career. It seems that she has energy for everyone else, but for me and I am starting to think that we have grown apart too far for a good start into a wedding. I get a lot of attention from other women, and I wonder if I am settling just to make her happy?

I have a crush on Brodie...and he has a female friend who cannot stand me being his friend. She is my supervisor. She has stood in front of everyone including customers & said that if I was a real woman I'd take Brodie away from her. He says they are not dating. She informed me of other me who are "not interested" in me. These men are longtime friends...not potential lovers. I call Brodie "Baby" and he calls me "Baby" too. He started it! Tonight Dracula Woman blew up when I called him "Baby" so I called her my second favorite "B" word! Now she's says she's gonna get me fired! I told her she didn't know what trouble she'd be in if I opened my mouth! She got mad about two weeks ago when he came to my house and demanded to know if we slept together. Then this week she asked if I had my period. Like she was checking if I was pregnant. I neither slept with him or got pregnant! He did make a comment while he was visiting me concerning if there was room enough in my bed for him too. What now?

I want to have, really badly. But I am afraid that I am not really ready yet. I have been dating my girlfriend for 9 months and she is patient and said she will wait for me. And it's not that I don't love my gf, I am deeply madly in love with her. What should I do?!

I have this guy friend, who a while ago I admited that I had a crush on him, and he said he might have a little bit of a crush on me, but he would rather just stay friends. Then he admitted he had a girlfriend. Well I recently found out he broke up with her for reasons unknown. well I still like him, even more so now and last night I emailed him, and just to test the water I ended with love, and then I put my name. Well he responded today and he did the same thing. What does this mean? And am I looking way too much into that, or what? I just was curious to see others opinions, so please respond! Thanks!

Problem with mom.

I'm already 30+, am a graduate. I've got to know this guy whom I'm interested in, met him 2 yrs ago. Mom knows this guy as well. Recenly, I've been chatting with him at night daily... we're not a couple (even though i'm not sure whether we are).

Mom found out that I'm chatting with this guy, and she got angry and forbit me from even CHATTING. What's wrong with talking to someone? I've always been a good gal at home. She says he's a 'low-class' person and we're not supposed to have anything to do with these people. I mean, c'mon... we're all humans, we're all adults. I think she sense that I like him. She has been very unreasonable these days. I'm even thinking of moving out for some freedom.

Is she too much? What can I do?

My former husband and I knew eachother since we were 12. We started dating at 14, married at 25, and divorced at 26 (w/o children). He did not want to divorce but I knew it was the best thing for the both of us. I would contact him every few months to see how he was doing. I know he remarried a couple of years later.

Fast forward 4 years. I have had a child and moved out of state. In the past month I have had numerous deams about him (at least 10-15 in 30 days). Some are with us together, some not. My mom thinks that these dreams mean that something is going on in his life and that I should contact him to make sure he is okay. Although I am curious as to how he is doing, I don't know what I should do.
