Young means not matured enough, so young men keeps enjoying their youth in chasing the most girls as they can.
Same for young women, they love the feeling of being chased and liked by alot of men.
It's human nature that couldn't be changed.

I think it is due to the fact that it looks better to be with someone rather than being alone.
I can't talk I suppose being with my fiancee for 7 years... but only engaged for a year and a bit lol
