I am a single, twenty-something female, and my coworker is a single, twenty-something guy. We don't work together directly, but he is always, always stopping at my cubicle to talk and laugh. At first I didn't think much of it, but lately, I have been daydreaming about kissing him. He doesn't want a relationship with anyone, and neither do I. I just htink it would be awesome to make-up with him (obviously NOT at work!). We have our company's holiday party coming up - can I make a move? We have been talking a lot at work for the past 6 months or so. When we talk, he looks at me directly. He does talk a lot about girls he has fooled around with, though. I can't tell if that is a good sign, or a bad sign. He often asks for advice. Damn, I would love to make out with him. Should I risk looking like a complete fool and messing up our fun talk at work by leaning over and kissing him? What do I have to lose? Well, I would miss hanging out with him at work. But maybe he would kiss back... Help!

Here's the history. I caught my husband "making out" with a female co-worker in our home. Yes, I am still with him only because he knows I have him by the balls now. And this was b4 we moved. The other day he came home with a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt and Tommy cologne. He doesn't know who gave it 2 him (or so he tells me) and doesn't care 2 find out. He is not part of the "secret Santa" thing. AND there is a woman who said 2 him, "If you divorce your wife, we can go on a date." I have seen and heard (from other people) how rude he is 2 her but she doesn't get it through her head. Am I over-reacting 2 the present of asking him 2 find out who gave it 2 him so he can return it? If it was me who got the gift, then he would demand 2 know who has a "thing" for me and return the gift. Should I confront the married woman about her comments to him? I want 2, but I don't want my husband 2 lose his job because of her and the things I would LOVE 2 make sure my point got across.

it seems like other races of men don't like black women. I'm mixed and my dad was black. He said he never loved black women and now I'm starting to see it everywhere. What' wrong with this? I know race shouldn't matter. But that's not how men see it.

I have a follow up question to my original. I appreciate all of your input, because Im really struggling with this. I ended the friendship awfully. My friend continued to call and IM me, but I dodged him (REALLY rough patch in my life...drugs, drinking, ashamed to face him and let him see what I was doing to myself). Then got back with now hubby and continued to dodge...he just stopped calling after a while. I feel terrible, and I want to let him know how sorry I am for letting his friendship go. Its been 4 years and Im not looking for anything, but I feel its important for him to know that what I did was terribly regrettable, and that I will always cherish his friendship.

I know this question might sound weird and some may say don't give up. But, I have loved my father, my first love, and my soul mate and I found they just didn't love me back enough. Some might find this giving up on love and other's may say its just hurt. But, at the end of the day we die alone with the beginning and the end and kind gestures on our tombstone. I'm a very very discipline d person in all other areas of my life and decided this area must be disciplined as well. I have found it causes problems, causing distractions and may ultimately stir me from my goals in life. So I've started by changing my number, and any feelings of loneliness I just go out and do something or focus on my business. What other practices can I start to forget about loving a man to train myself?( Seriuos Responses Only)

So my bf and I have been dating for 4 months. He's 23, and I'm 22. We go to the same school. Everything has been great; he told me he loves me. I love him, etc. A few weeks ago, he told me he found out his ex is dating again (he dated her for 3 years and broke up with her shortly before coming to school). He said he's a little jealous and is worried that could mean he still has feelings for her. I was kind of upset at first, but I went through the same thing when my ex started dating again. Anyway, our relationship has gotten so much better since then. We spend a lot of time together, and he told me I'm probably the best person he's ever met and he feels really lucky to be dating me. Even so, he left today to go home for Christmas (he lives in MN, but we go to school in VA). He's going to see his ex over break to make sure his feelings are nothing to worry about. He told me that unless something big happens he can't imagine not wanting to date me. Should I worry?

My wife has gained 20 pounds with each child (we have 3) and hasn't lost any of the weight. She used to be 140 and now is over 200 pounds. On the other hand I was 240 when married and am now a healthy 185lbs.

I've tried to go on a diet with her (how I lost my weight) and offered to exercise with her but she insists she doesn't have the will power I do. Or she tells me it's just easier for men to lose weight. She will only stay on a diet for a week or less.Even worse she binges before going on a diet because she wants to get her last goodies in.

I never thought I would be so shallow, but how she looks bothers me. How can you stay with someone who refuses to change? How do you stay with someone who you aren't attracted to anymore?

I have 3 young kids so divorce is not an option I want to consider.

Advice?

32 year old lawyer here. I'm fairly good looking (or so I've been told). I haven't had a seriously girlfiend ever (although I have dated casually before). I really don't know why no woman has held my interest for more than a day . . . or why I just seem to lack the desire to devote a lot of energy into chasing a little "hhhrruummp hhhrrrump" . . . Anyway, most of my friends are married and when I compare myself to them, I just seem so different.

First off, I LOVE TO SHOP . . . for ANYTHING. Sometimes "skinny jeans" othertimes flowers, wrapping paper, or marzapan candies, etc. I just love shopping. And giving gifts to friends!

I'm also sensitive and I cry a lot . . . at movies (like the Karate Kid) or just when someone tells me something sad (like they are unhappy with the way their new wallpaper looks, etc).

I never thought of myself as gay, and have never "made it" with a boy.

Should I just go for it with a boy and see how I feel afterwards?

Are women more in touch with their emotions than men are? If so, why do you think men are so cut off from our feelings? Do you wish men were more emotionally expressive - or do you think men should stay just how we are?

It sucks, because I wanna fit in with the gamer-type crowd, but even tho i play games...I'll never be considered one of them, because I wear preppy-type clothing and work out, to fit in with more popular people, and to attract girls. I'm more of a nice guy, but this pisses off the mean guys for some reason, but I try to fit in with them too by being tough. Damnit, is there any way to get along with everyone, and not be considered a frickin fake?

We do a gift exchange, but you do not know who you are buying the gift for. I work with mostly women who are middle-aged (over 30). There are a couple of men who work here and they are middle-aged as well. There are only two people who are under 30 (1 guy, 1 girl). I have only been working for the company for 6 months, so I am still trying to get to know my co-workers. I have no idea what is an appropriate gift for a co-worker since this is my first "real" job.

didn't work out. Didn't even get to 2nd/3rd base. Anyway, since November we have been hanging out every weekend and enjoy each other's company. Lots of sex too!! but his mind is made up. He still wants a divorce. He says he loves and cares for me as a "friend". My gut feeling is that maybe his confused, and his too proud to admit? I also strongly believe that he will come home soon...am I crazy??????

Whenever I am speaking to my sister and she refers to one of our parents she says "my mom" or "my dad." Why can't she just refer to them as mom or dad? I just find it really strange and I want insight as to why she might do this? I don't want to ask her because she is very argumentative and I don't want to start a war.

Sex is a good thing. Sex is for young people (the word young is not meant as a chronological statement). Sex is for healthy people. Sex is pleasureable. Sex is an intimate connection with another human being; something we all need. Sex is a natural and instinctive behavior. And so on.

Do you really think that there is something wrong with serial monogamy? If people are having sex with someone they would choose as a partner when alcohol and drugs aren't part of the decision making process and they are practicing birth control and STD prevention, how can it be wrong?

Make sure you understand the difference between serial monogamy and the one-a-day drunken last call act of desperation or your answer will be way off target.
