I am a single, twenty-something female, and my coworker is a single, twenty-something guy. We don't work together directly, but he is always, always stopping at my cubicle to talk and laugh. At first I didn't think much of it, but lately, I have been daydreaming about kissing him. He doesn't want a relationship with anyone, and neither do I. I just htink it would be awesome to make-up with him (obviously NOT at work!). We have our company's holiday party coming up - can I make a move? We have been talking a lot at work for the past 6 months or so. When we talk, he looks at me directly. He does talk a lot about girls he has fooled around with, though. I can't tell if that is a good sign, or a bad sign. He often asks for advice. Damn, I would love to make out with him. Should I risk looking like a complete fool and messing up our fun talk at work by leaning over and kissing him? What do I have to lose? Well, I would miss hanging out with him at work. But maybe he would kiss back... Help!

Office relationships or flings usually turn out bad, making the working environment very uncomfortable.

Well unlike every other answer here I got options, since is not a ONE solution kind of matter.

Here it goes:

1. JOB is VERY IMPORTANT = Forget it! If your reading is WRONG you end up being the talk of the Office.

2. JOB is NOT very IMPORTANT= Well don't kiss him, that's just too whore-like. But use your charm to give him a hint.

Note if NONE of the two option apply, then here are other options.

1. Ask mutual FRIENDS to go out all together...WHY? Out of the work enviroment it will be easier to gage what he's really all about.

WARNING: Don't be all up on him, it's NOT a date but a group outing !

2. If your really into this guy, can't get him out of the office...well it's hard but doable..no pun intended. Men are of physical nature. What?? Well men respond better with physical stimuli. Use body language, contact to SHOW him your interested. IF he's been dating as much as he talks...well he'll RECOGNIZE that SIGNAL and 1) respond if interested or 2) act like nothing happened.

ANALYSE YOUR SITUATION AND PICK YOUR CHOICE.

GOOD LUCK

At 20 - 30, when the hormones are at full flood, if you make the first move he's going to think you want sex.

Ask him is he knows any good places for lunch the next time he stops by. If he suggests one and offers to go with you, he is interested. I'd let him make the first move.

Making out IS having a relationship, like it or not. Once you start, you either have to continue until you move in together or ignore him politely every time you see him after the breakup.

Well he could be telling you about the other women because he wants you to become jealous and like him. I would say make some kind of move. Your move doesn't necessarily have to be a kiss. The next time he says something about hooking up with another girl, make a comment about how come he has never tried any of that stuff on you.

Kissing without the preliminaries, such as a date, can be too much of a suprise and a shock for him. And it can end up being embarassing for both of you.

When a guy wants to have sex with a lady for the first time, he doesn't just grab her t*t and let her know of his desire this way. He has to work up to it.

The same is true for the lady who wants to make friends with the guy. You have to take it easy and work up to it slowly, without shocking or scaring him away.

What do I have to lose?

If it really DOES NOT work out, would you have to change jobs or companies to avoid him?

So far, there are endless positive possibilities. The risk at this point is that you are living with the illusion that it will all be SOOOO wonderful. Reality bites!

Oooh Mr. Charming! He doesn't want a relationship and regales you with stories of the women he's screwed around with- my my, what a catch! And he's attractive to you....why? Have some standards and self-respect. He's telling all the other coworkers the same thing- and if you screw around with him, he'll soon be telling them how you were gagging for him.

don't bother with screwing up your working friendship...it's not worth the added stress it might create at the office.
