I'm in engineering science right now in university and i'm think of going to General science in faculty of applied science to reduce workload.... After university, i want to get MBA. Would it better for me to keep my engineering now or should i transfer to general science(which transition is better to get an MBA later?)
Also, I'm in vancouver. I'm in SFU and that's the second best university in vancouver and later on, i'm thinking of getting my MBA in U.S. Would this be a challenge? or is the transition alright once i meet all the requirement? Thanks

As this generation unfolds, I seem to become more convinced that attaining a college education is a scam; I now believe that conformity has become the real secret to success in modern America. Acting like myself and doing things the way I want to do them has always lead to failure and the same thing seems to happen in education and society. Think about it: when have you ever used history, physics, biology, or chemistry in a real life situation?

Steven Spieldberg received his degree in movies at cal state long beach five years ago; Bill Gates was a harvard drop out; I know a guy who has a masters in philosophy but is currently working in a book store; 75% of people don't even finish college. Whats the deal?

Education is a big scam; an investment that they want YOU to believe will get you more money in the future. Try your best to prove me wrong...

I'm a sophomore in college. My freshman year started off with me having an undecided major and then I decided to become an industrial engineer. I took math classes up to Calc 2, but I'd need to take more math like Calc 3, Probability and Statistics, and Differential Equations and probably more math classes for that major. I got a little freaked out about the math and last summer, I thought being an X-Ray technician would be cool. I thought all I'd have to do is to take pictures of the patients and send them on their way. I then got to thinking, I don't want to injure someone plus, I have no clue if I'm really interested in this enough to do it for a career. I can't think of anything I'm good at or what I'm interested in. I'm now leaning towards becoming an industrial engineer again. I can't seem to make up my mind. I thought maybe could try those math classes and become an industrial engineer. What major should I choose? How much math is involved/how hard is being an IE ? Thank

I just want to know if my college GPA will be reset from my high school GPA.. in other words, if my college GPA is independent from my high school GPA? My worry comes because i fooled around in high school and basically from a 4.1 it went down to a 2.8. And since i'm starting all over in college i don't want my high school GPA to affect my college GPA because then well, im screwed ='(
So that's what i'm wondering.. Thanks for helping whoever it is =)

Hi. I'm an engineering major and am applying for an Internship/job. What GPA do employers consider the minimum that would be acceptable or something that I wouldn't be afraid to show on my resume?

I am a junior in High School and I can't make up my mind about what university I want to go to.
Are there certain classes that I should take in order to get into a pharmacy major University?
What are the requirments of most the Universities in California?
Is it better if I go to an university in Chicago instead of CA?
How long it normally takes to graduate if you want to be a pharmacist?

My wife has been 1 semester away from graduating from ETSU, for quite awhile now (about 2 years). When she gets registered for the next semester they always seem to find more classes that she "needs" to graduate. Is this something thats common practice amongst universities across the country? I think its just dead wrong that a university can do this. Just wondering if anybody out there has had a similar problem. Thanks for the answers.

I got 4.0 all Freshman year at a supposely low academic public high school.

So I transfer to a more selective public school (ranked a top 100 California HS according to US NEWs, etc).

Currently I'm getting low 3.3s at this tougher school.

Do colleges take that in consideration when applying?

Was it a mistake to transfer to the harder school?

Hi.....In October another student at my school started stalking me and sending me threatening messages. He said if I did not have sex with him and be his girlfriend he was going to kill me. It made me go crazy! I was so scared to go to school and end up being killed that I did not go to midterms.........So I dropped my classes and I have 3 W's on my record. I am sad becuase my transcript is ruined. It is not like I did not go to midterms because I was lazy and dropped cuz I was doing poorly I had all A's I was just scared of getting killed...I told the police and they currently have detectives working on the case....Are there programs at most colleges that could help? If I talked to an academic person could I maybe get those W's off my transcript? I was paying for school from an academic excellence award scholarship......In order to keep it you have to have 12 credits...Since I dropped I can't use the scholarship so I have no way to pay for school! Should I see the couselor at school?

well, i used to be at the top of the class. straight A's and all. so, i was offered to take this insane course, and i did. right now, i am taking 3 ap courses, in pre-calc, and a sophmore. and i am getting more bs then A's on one marking period. it is driving me loco. all of my friends say that i am intelligent, and i tend to beileve them. But i am not sure if colleges will like me or not. another thing is that i have no idea what to do with my life. we are in school, supposively, to get ready for your job. but i have almost no idea what to be. all i know is that it will have to do with math. but, i need to get into a good college. am i just flipping out over nothing or should i be deeply concerned, as in does the college you go to really make a huge difference in your carrer?

I went to the same school preschool-8th grade. i had a group of 10 friends. we were all really close in 7th and 8th grade and we all were like sisters. we were the "popular" people so to speak. when i was in 9th grade i transferred to a new school and moved to a new town. im now in 11th grade. i made one close friend really quickly. but she recently ditched me a few months ago for a new group and hangs out with this other girl now. this other girl who was my friend like tries to ditch me all the time. im not mean or anything i'm nice but am also quiet at times around people other than my friends. so now im so confused. i don't get why people don't wanna be friends with me..???im really nice and helpful to everyone...i still keep in touch with 1 girl from my old school. but still i've been at this school 2 years and right now i feel like i have no friends to hang out with because they both pretty much ditched me..now what? :(

are people in college nicer???

I'm a sophmore at college applying to the 2 year business school program for junior and senior year. The application requires a resume. I have job experience i can list on it, but i don't have a really high GPA(3.0 but going up after this semester), or any relevant school-related activities or achievements.

I'm a musician and a lot of my time and energy is devoted to music, but how do i include that? If i could write a small paragraph explaining i want to go into music business or how my job over the last 2 summers made me realize i want to do learn business or some bullshit like that...my resume might stand out. But the way it is now, my resume doesn't stand out above average in any way.

My friends who are applying to the school said the school is looking for a really basic simple resume though...so i don't know what to do. There's no way to include anything personal, just GPA and resume and classes basically.

Which would look better on a college application: having gone to high school and been in several clubs or having gone to high school and taken several honors classes? I really haven't joined any clubs, and I don't really want to, so I was wondering if taking honors classes is better than being in clubs?

Thanks
