Calculus is not the higestmath that you can take. Theres Linear Equations, Partial Differential Equations and Differential Equations. There's higher than this too I believe. Stats you normally dont have to take unless you are a Stats major or just want to fulfill Math credits without taking Calculus. I took Stats for my major but it was specifically required. The higher Math courses are required for Engineering/Physics/Scienece majors. They arent necessary unless the degree plan states it is.
1) Pre Algebra
2) Algebra 1
3) Algebra 2
4) College Algebra
5) Pre Calculus/ Trigonometry (Not the same semester though)
6) Calculus 1
7) Calculus 2
8) Calculus 3
9) Linear Algebra (Engineering majors/Phys/Sci)
10) Differential Equations (same)
11) Partial Differential Equations (same)
12) Theres higher too

RE:
What is the Order of math classes that are taken in life from high school all the way thru college?
Starting with pre-algebra, then algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, college algebra, trig/pre-calculus, then calculus ?? also is calculus the HIGHEST math class in most colleges? or is there another adv class after calc? and where does stats and finite math stand?

Hi,
In response to your question; What is the Order of math classes that are taken in life from high school all the way thru college?
You should have a look at http://www.unicheckonline.com/FAQ8 have a look around, and you'll learn alot.
As you asked; Starting with pre-algebra, then algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, college algebra, trig/pre-calculus, then calculus ??
also is calculus the HIGHEST math class in most colleges? or is there another adv class after calc? and where does stats and finite math stand?
Kind regards,

calculus is pretty much the most advanced math you'll take unless you are a math major, but even thus you will be taking classes that focus on a subset (nice math term, huh?) of issues and areas of calculus (limits, sequences, rational/irrational numbers, differential equations, etc, etc).
if youre degree program is more business oriented, you'll probably take econ and stats classes that apply some of the principles you learn in calculus to the 'real world' (as opposed to advanced calculus that is more theoretical).

OK, this was my order of math classes, but it depends on your major. (Starting in 9th grade)
Algebra
Geometry
Algebra 2
Trig, and Prob & Stats
_____________________
(College)
Second level Stats
Finite and Discrete Math
I never had to take Calc for a liberal arts and hospitality major.
