Both Charles Dickinson’s a Christmas Carol and Conrad’s Heart of Darkness explores the human condition but the two novels written at each end of the Victorian period diverge in their opinion of humanity and consequently society as a whole.

alright, I am considering 2 careers: Either Pharmacy or Dentistry. So which one is better?

What I know:
Pharmacy: 6 years of college, good salary, flexible work hrs., fast-growing field
vs.
Dentistry: 7 years of college, good salary,

What I want to know is:
Which is harder to study?
Which pays more, yearly?
Which is a more honorable job?

p.s.- I am an average-honor student, if that helps...so which one would u go for, and which one (if you were me) would you go for?

I am a Pastor who teaches in a college. A kind group of pastor's kids have graciously requested that I be their faculty sponsor. I am looking to do an excellent job.

Any ideas about not just a job description (though this would be welcome), but also tweaks and stuff that would ensure a rich and rewarding experience for these young people and impact forever on their lives, dreams and goals. I want to help them discover what God has dreamed for each of them and if possible encourage them to start a thriving friendship with the God of their parents.

My kids are my friends though they are too small to be an active part of this group. I hope by leading this group to learn lessons that would help me keep my kids as friends.

I'm about to graduate from college and get my bachelors. However, I feel like I have no idea what to do with my life. Did you experience anything similar? What did you do in that case?

I'm a good students. I'm involved in a lot things like: 3 different youth groups, I went to Hebrew High, FBLA, business program over the summer, 3.5 GPA, dance for 15 years, camp counselor, camp for 8 years, director of a play, i edited a book, cafe employee, but I have terrible SAT scores. I have a 490 in math, 470 in critical reading, a 540 in math but an 11 on my essay. (the 11 doesn't matter because no schools look at it) I'm only in one IB class (its like AP) but that is drama, everything else is just advanced. I'm applying to Penn Sate University, its not my #1 school but I would really consider going if I got in. Just in case I'm applying to a satellite school Altoona but I don't know much about it. If anyone can tell me some good satellite schools for me that would be so helpful! Thanks guys!

I have a bachelors degree in psychology and eventually want to be a counselor of some sort but don't want to get a Ph.D in psych. I was thinking about getting my masters degree in either psychology or social work but I work full time and the closest school that offers those programs is 2 hours away--we can't move because of my husbands job.

I work at the University from which I received my bachelors degree and they have a masters in counseling program. Since I'm employed by the school I can get 50% off of my tuition, however I still don't know if it is worth it to go through 2 years and thousands of dollars to get a masters degree in counseling.

Is a masters in counseling useless?

Right now it would cost me 30 dollars per year or 750/1,000 dollars for a lifetime membership. I don't know if it would be worth it or if it would just be another scam by my university.

my learning disability wasnt diagnosed until i was in my late sophmore year and so my fresh, soph and early junior year grades were not that high as my 2nd semester junior yr and my now senior year grades as I made honor roll both times and I e-mailed a college counselor and explained everything that happened and they said if i explained it in detail in my essay they would take it into consideration and I did explain it and now they denied my admission and you know the reason why? Because of my fresh/soph/early junior year grades!!! And I did everything like they asked so do I have a good case to petition for re-admission? I have the e-mail saved and they have my personal statement and everything

I was wondering if Grad schools pay too much attention to community college GPA? I transferred from community college to university with not so good GPA (very lazy), but I'm doing well in university (GPA 3.50+). I wanted to know if I keep up my GPA at university, get involved a lot on campus, get an internship in Europe...will the gard schools possibly look at the recent university activity more than what I did years ago in community college? I would hate to know that my present good student status might hurt my admission to various grad schools because of some community college. Forgot to add that i'm in honor's society as well in university, so I'm hoping that the grad schools won't pay too much attention on my community college transcript. Anyone knows anything about this?

I am currently a junior in a college prep high school and need help with my search for colleges! I currently have a 3.9 GPA and I take 3 honors courses (honors math with a 93, honors spanish with a 99, and honors chemistry with a 97). On my PSATS I only received a 1790/2400 but i expect that to go up. Our school is changing its GPA policy and I expect my GPA to reach a 4.1. I am interested in science and math majors such as biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or maybe even premed. If any one has any college suggestions please help! and also if you have any other related major suggestions that would be great too!

it seems like you should be able to live off campus if you want to. they say that it's an "enriching experience" you should take part in, but it's been nothing but a nightmare for me. i've been trying to get off campus, but they keep insisting i have to stay. if i wanna pay monthly rent, take on my own responsibilities, etc. i should be able to! instead of paying an insane amount of money each semester to be unhappy. can they legally force you to stay on campus? can they not let you out of the requirement to pay room/board/etc.?

I am a sophomore in high school right now and one of the schools that I have my sights set on is Brown University. I have wanted to go to Brown for a few years now. My credientals are:

#5 out of 492 students
4.67 GPA out of 5.0
I am taking
Honors Advanced Algebra
AP US History
Honors English
Honors Chemistry
Spanish II
Those are the hardest courses you can take at my grade.
I am earning a B+ in AP all the rest of my courses I have A+s in. I have only take PSATS so far though so I can say what my SAT score is yet.

Extra Curriculars:
High School Swim Team
High School Soccer Team
USBC Bowling
High School Newspaper

Anyone have any advice on ways to improve my stats to have a better chance of getting into Brown?
