I want to go to top medical schools like John Hopkins, Baylor, Yale, etc. But I dont know if they will take the university into consideration if you have 3.7+ GPA, excellent community service profile, and excellent MCAT scores. Will it matter if I go to UCLA or UT at austin?

Right now I'm doing my undergrad in poli sci. I have been considering getting an MBA afterwards. I am just curious about what the content of a MBA program is. Is it mostly theory, or is there a lot of practical math? Any other advice would be appreciated!

Do you have to be in a frat or live in a dorm all 4 years or at any time? I'd rather just have an apartment instead of staying in a dorm.

Hi i am currently in the 11th grade in highschool. i have a 4.4 gpa and got a 29 on the ACT. i know i can probably get into a decent college with these statistics, but no schools here in California really appeal to me at all. I don't like any of the UC schools much, and there's nowhere else that really appeals to me. I was wondering what some good, close alternatives are. But, i kind of want to go to a college out-of-state. would it be hard to adjust? but my mom doesn't want me to go out of state but I kinda want to...

Hey I was wondering what people thought about San diego State. A lot of people think its the second best state college. Also how could you get into Cal Poly with below a 3.5. Does anyone know a way to get in without having an extreme gpa

I go to a Catholic HS in the suburbs of Chicago. I have about a 98-99% average, and my school does not rank, but I assume I am top 10%. I am in 3 AP classes and 2 honors, as well as Spanish and Gym (full class load). I have always been in the highest level classes in every subject. I took the ACT for the first time w/ no prep and got a 33, and a 1440 (2180 w/ writing) SAT. I'm retaking the ACT and probably will just not send out my SAT. I am co president of two clubs (environmental and student action) was on student gov for two years, and am a writer for the school paper, as well as in a school theater production (currently). I have done a lot of service work (req. for my school) but am looking for more outside of that. I have had a job for a year.
What are my chances at these colleges?
U of Michigan
Notre Dame (where I want to go most-my grandfather's cousin was a professor and has art around campus not sure if that will help at all)
BC
University of Chicago (legacy)
NYU
Georgetown

Ok guys, I a little bit unsure on what master's degree I should look into for school. I am 22 years old and almost done with my bachelors in management. I am undecided between a masters of arts in innovative leadership and a MBA with an emphasis in management.

I do not know what I want to do as a career, but I know that the MBA degree has the "flare" that people look for in a candidate. I really care about making people happy and making a business successful.

Any suggestions?

Is the high school system working properly, do students know how to read, write, and calculate when they graduate, or is this the reason they need extra classes in college?

i'm right now in engineering in my first year. i had my first semester, but so far all i've seen is stress... even tho i will do my best just to get a good result in the end. however, i'm not exactly sure if this is the field i really want because my math and physics aren't that good at the moment... should i go into general studies and find out the area i really like or should i stay in engineering because general studies is too broad?

I am applying for a graduate school and completing its online application.
I completed the research interest part and also wrote the statement of research interest, where I explained about the related project that I have worked on during my undergraduate studies. I also explained my work experience in this field and what I learned in my work experience.

But due to the difficult living situation where I studied, my GPA is almost 2.9 and their minimum requirements is having GPA of 3.

Although they have mentioned that exceptional cases are also accepted, if the applicant has a significant work experience in the related area to this field and I think I have that experience in both my undergraduate project and my work.

But I don't know how can I explain and what I should explain in this part?

Nowhere in the online application asks about the GPA or grades at this level of online application but later I should send them the grades.

Comment part says "If you have any additional comments that may assist the Graduate Committee in adjudicating your application, provide them below"

Please help me to write it properly as I have both strong and week points together.

Is it a good idea to write more than at least 500 words? I have about 600 words, and I think writing more will take away from it?

I have 3 classes that will have me in class M-Th. I need one more class to have enough credits to get scholarship money. I decided to do another distance learning class. I can't decide whether I should take abnormal psychology or english literature. I need a somewhat easy class, I mean in understanding. I took world lit and it was just a lot of reading. So I'm thinking English Lit will be about the same. A lot of reading and summary assignments. But it has nothing to do with my major. I just sorta need the credits. Abnormal psychology is not near my major, but it would be closer than english lit. so I just wondered if anyone knew which class might be easier as far as understanding concepts and getting the main idea.
