Why does Stanford not ask for your major?

I am applying for Stanford and I don't know where in the application I state my major. No where in the supplement application does Stanford ask for your major.

This may be because they are smart and know that most freshmen have no idea what they want to do with their lives, and because they are looking for the best students across the board, rather than looking for people in particular majors.
