San Diego State is one of the stronger CSUs - not as good as Cal Poly SLO, but pretty good nonetheless. To Martin - this is NOT a UC; any school in California with "State" in its name is a CSU. According to the College Board, 28% of the admitted students to Cal Poly SLO had GPAs under 3.5, so it should be possible, depending on how far below a 3.5 yours is! Your chances are probably better if you have a strong SAT score.

It seems such as you're a clever cookie and a dedicated student. SDSU gets a foul rep with the aid of fact it is infamous as a party college. there are a lot of human beings there who do no longer put in the attempt and are greater involved in the infamous dark element of school existence. there grow to be a great drug bust there final semester additionally, which solid a vast shadow around the campus. yet there are a number of solid scholars there too and that i've got universal various who've graduated with honors and who did no longer get entangled in any college scandals. It seems such as you are the latter variety to me. i think of you will do superb there. i do no longer understand something approximately long coastline different than the region, that's some thing of a sister city to San Diego (comparable format, sites, and demographic i think of). i think of it is going back right down to what you certainly need to pursue, you will make acquaintances at the two place and that i understand from journey that there is plenty to do and notice in San Diego (the area around SDSU is universal as "the college area" and is its very own microcosm). long coastline is spectacular too, and is on the brink of la, yet i do no longer understand if i may well be prepared to handle the site visitors all the time or the shortcoming of exact seashores. solid success with despite you come to a determination. ^_^

Good school, my bro went there and nice place to live for a while when you are attending. Cal Poly, in SLO, nope, wouldn't bother with the school or SLO, locals are really lousy to you and some of the professors have been there forever and never change their lesson plan.

all the UCs are generally well respected. For the second question -- I guess you could try inventing something or getting an article of some sort published.
