No. Very few colleges require people to live in a dorm for 4 years, although most do require it for your first year if you aren't living at home with your family. After that, it depends upon where you are. In some places, where there are very few apartments or they are very expensive, many students continue to live on campus. At other schools, most students move off campus with classmates after the first year.
The very best jobs for a student would be things which could enhance your education. For example, if you are a pre-med student, and you work in a hospital, or an architecture student working in an architecture firm. Otherwise, you want a job which will pay you as much as possible for as few hours as possible, which will offer very flexible hours, and which will leave you with free time to study on the job, if possible.
Classes in college usually meet two or three days a week, with the occasional exception of things like language classes, which might meet daily. Eventually, most students try to find a class schedule which allows them to fit in a work schedule. However, as a freshman, you probably would not have a priority for registration, and you may need to accept whatever classes are left open, which means that you don't have much control over your schedule. At many schools, freshmen cannot count on choosing the days or times of their classes.

No, you can be an off campus student. But normally when students do that it is so that they can still live at home and save money while going to school. It may in some cases be more expensive to get an actual apartment than it would be to get a dorm thru your school. There are several good jobs for college students, usually the best being ones at a department store or waitoring, mainly because they can typically be the most flexible in scheduling. And you can schedule classes in many different ways. They don't always have to be everyday. You could have classes only a couple of days a week but just for a longer amount of hours to make up for it.

1. You do not have to be in a frat and often you are not allowed to pledge your first year even if you do want to be in a frat
2. You do not need to live in the dorm for all four years, but I recommend it for at least a year or two. It is a great way to make friends and get involved in the campus community
3. The best type of job is a flexible job. I recommend a campus job if it is just for spending money. If you actually need to pay real bills, I recommend waiting tables...it is quck money and you often only have to work a few nights a week.
4. Classes are when you schedule them. Avoid the 8:20 on Friday am...you'll never go. I always tried to schedule classes for two days or so per week, but sometimes that doesn't always work out.

you usually live in the dorms your first year. I recommend it, it's a fun way to get to know a bunch of people, and you can find out about cheap places and meet potential future roommates. u don't have to join a frat or live there all four years either. you usually live there for a year, and then get your own place. if you already know a lot of people, then getting your own place would be the best choice, but i'd wait until sophomore year to do that. there are all sorts of jobs you can take up, but getting a job on campus cuts down on travel and if you're working with a professor, helps you with a recommendation letter later on and instant help for a class you may be taking with him/her. or if you need to get away from school, try gettin a job someplace that'll help you in some way (discounts for shopping, or look good on your resume). classes usually meet 2-3 times a week, and the big lecture courses will have discussion/recitation classes that'll meet once a week. make sure to take advantage of free tutoring!! good luck :)
