I have 3 classes that will have me in class M-Th. I need one more class to have enough credits to get scholarship money. I decided to do another distance learning class. I can't decide whether I should take abnormal psychology or english literature. I need a somewhat easy class, I mean in understanding. I took world lit and it was just a lot of reading. So I'm thinking English Lit will be about the same. A lot of reading and summary assignments. But it has nothing to do with my major. I just sorta need the credits. Abnormal psychology is not near my major, but it would be closer than english lit. so I just wondered if anyone knew which class might be easier as far as understanding concepts and getting the main idea.

I also took psychology and liked it, and I like to read. So both classes would be interesting to me, it's just a matter of which one would seem easier.

Abnormal Psych can be a very involved class - I had a research paper in mine. You will have papers in English Lit, but they won't be as technical. Because you say your major is more closely related to English Lit, take that - it benefits you more and it is less strenuous course maybe more enjoyable (in my opinion - I have taken this class as well). Abnormal Psych is not difficult to understand and I found it fascinating, but it is a lot of information and if your curriculum is difficult it can be a hard grade to maintain - take it next semester...

At 15, the world is your oyster. First, go for a bachelor's in psychology or English to keep your options open. Next, arrange internships, job shadowing experiences and/or informational interviews with people doing the type of work you want to do. Find out (a) if that setting is how you imagine it to be and (b) what the backgrounds are of most people in those settings. Finally, if you're going for self-employment, minor in Business. Running a business is a completely different discipline than counseling, and you'll need training and experience in both.

It all depends on you and your interest. I have absolutely no interest in English lit so that class to me would be a drag. However, I do enjoy psychology so if it were me, I'd go with that one. But, only you know where your interests are. Psychology to me is more interesting therefore, it would be easier to learn for me than a lot of reading that I have no interest in.

Well if you want to try something different I would try abnormal psychology. I loved that class. The study of different psychological illnesses and disorders are very interesting. Of course, I'm bias since I'm a psychology major.
