Which would look better on a college application: having gone to high school and been in several clubs or having gone to high school and taken several honors classes? I really haven't joined any clubs, and I don't really want to, so I was wondering if taking honors classes is better than being in clubs?

Thanks

Honors classes are always great, but you will be hurt in your college application process if you don't have any extracurricular activities.

Clubs look better, just because they can see that you are involved. If no clubs then try community service. Honors do look good, though. They would rather you take the chance of taking honors and you get a C than they would if you took a regulars class and got an A.

Clubs that show community or school involvement. Anime club may not look as good as a service club or such. Many colleges, don't even weight honors courses at all. However, honors and Advanced Placement classes will work wonders in getting you ready for college.

Well they're both good, and taking honors classes certainly couldn't hurt. On the other hand, by not being in any clubs or extracurriculars, it shows a lack of involvement. If you really want to look good on those college apps, you'll join at least one club, but you don't necessarily have to. I'm personally applying to colleges myself at the moment. I have extra-curriculars up the ying-yang, but my grades aren't spectacular, and I've gotten into every college I've applied to so far. I would assume it would work the same way for you, seeing as your in my situation only opposite.

Honor classes look better, but you should join at least one club, as they do like to see that also.

honors classes are better than clubs. Although if you are looking for ivy league schools both are important. State school's you are pretty much just going to want to get the best grades possible.

having gone to high school and taken several honors classes
- sounds better :)
plus you dont have to lie and you'd be pretty stuck if they asked you to do something that you had said you had done in a 'club' like... sword fighting for example, lol.

Depends; are you getting A's in your honors classes? If not, stick to the regular classes and take the clubs!
