I'm a sophomore in high school, and I'm looking at Berklee as a potential college. I want to be a professional guitarist, and I've been playing for two years.

Ok, so currently I am a senior at a state university. My upper division gpa is about 3.67 but my overall gpa is lower, around 3.2. Do you think I should apply directly into a Ph.D program, or go to another state school, with a professor that I really enjoy working with and do a masters degree before applying? Doing a masters first would allow me to improve my gpa, develop my reading comprehension in German (already fluent in French), and possibly increase my chances at getting into a much better university then I would currently be excepted by.

Will doing a masters outside of the university where I finish my Ph.D look bad when applying for jobs later? Would it be better to get into a Ph.D program that might not be as impressive or with the faculty I want just so I can stay consistent?

Any help from people who have been through this process would be appreciated.

So on my SATs I got a 700-writing, 640-reading, and 730 math. I have about a 3.5/4 GPA(Un-weighted, 4.2 weighted). I'm in the top 10% of my class and I'm heavily involved in extracurricular activities and hold several leadership positions along with founding my own club. I'm also in the band and have made the all-state band sophomore and junior year (and should make it senior year) along with the all-new england band junior year. I received mid 600s on my SAT IIs and got a 4 on my AP test that I took this past year. THis is lot of information (maybe too much) but I wanted to be detailed.

I'll be applying into UIC really soon...
I have a GPA of 3.9 out of a 5.0 scale
28 on my ACT's
and 287 hours of volunteer hours...
I'll be applying into the nursing program in UIC
Do I have a good shot of getting in? ...I know it's easy to get into ther LAS school, but I heard that nursing is getting more and more competative...
...Would i Have a higher chance of getting in if I applied as Early Decision, just because they could see that I'm really serious about attending their school? ..Or would I be thrown into a bunch of other people who are just as competative as I Am?
With my GPA, ACT score, etc...would I be better of just applying Early Admissions? as opposed to Early Decision?

You get your degree and still pay for the courses you take online but is there a set back to not actually going to college? Just wondering...:)
Thanks!

I just graduated High School. All of my friends are moving off to the colleges and universities of their choice, and because of some poor decisions made by me in High School, I'm stuck here, going to a local community college and then transferring.

How do I get over this mix of jealousy and anger at myself for not being proactive and getting into a good college?

see, i'm going to university soon and i still have no idea what i should do. I always wanted to go into healthcare, but then i see all the negative aspects of being a nurse or midwife etc etc..(i dont want to be a doctor though). Then i want to go into a computing course and i get all confused as to what the future prospects are.
i'm the type of person that HATES giving presentations. I could kill myself and not give a presentation - THATS ONE OF MY PROBLEMS WITH UNIVERSITY. do we have to be assessed that way? If not, i'll have to put up with it. but what would you think is the best route ?

I'm currently a sophomore in high school in the US and it's always been a dream of mine to spend at least one year in college abroad in another country. I'm most likely going to purseu a career in the law field (lawyer) and I'd like to know some good colleges/universities in the UK, Australia, and Canada that I could potentially study a year/more at...also how hard is it to get into those schools?
I'm looking into Ivy Leagues and schools like them here in the US.
