Are there any free online colleges?

I would like to attend a college but would like it to be like a cyber school is for grade kids, meaning free to students.

The costs of running a college (an accredited college) are so high that it would be impossible to operate a free online college.

Professors with PhDs expect to get paid. Books cost money. Accreditation costs a small fortune. It'd be nearly impossible.

That said, there are some places where you can take some free courses online that aren't colleges.
