I was in an English degree program, but I have been thinking about getting into some sort of business program. Also, I am a creative-type person. So I'm wondering if there is a degree plan that would be more marketable, but that would be good for my personality so that I will have a better chance to succeed at it.

What does it take for an online university to obtain a license to grant degrees? If you can please provide a website (such as ed.gov) that will give me the step-by-step procedure for obtaining a license I will be grateful.

The specific states I'm looking for are Maine and New Jersey. Thank you :)

I registered for classes late. And the only thing left was a 4 hour math class on saturday! I don't know how I'm going to do math for 4 hours. I hate math. The class is fundamentals of math. How horrible is it going to be?! Atleast I will be done with math because it is 4 credits.

I've been told that applying to University or College under an "unpopular" major gives you an advantage in the admissions process....is this true? or just a waste of time?

I took an A.P. Microeconomics class in the spring semester last year during my senior year. Now I am a Freshman in college. So this microeconomics class I took, the teacher had us apply into Sn Jose State during Spring 2007 for that class. So pretty much everyone in the class who got above a D received college credit for that cass becase it wa like taking that class in college, just in my high school. It really just replaced the AP test so we didnt have to take it. So I wanted to know how to transfer these credits fro San Jose State to the CSU I am currently attending so I can get those credits.

I was told that if you have a Bachelor's degree, that you can take additional teaching classes, and get a teaching certificate. Is this true for any Bachelor's degree? For example, would I be able to do this with a business degree or a human resources degree?

My bf has wants to go to college for something. All he wants is for us to have enough money for us to get by w/ out struggle. He is thinking about pharmacy school but that is very expensive. He only make like 17, 000 a year and Pharmacy school can cost up to 100,000 a year. He doesn't want to be away all the time working and going to school. We also need to get our own place. Once we have settled into our own place things will go a lot smoother for us ( his parents are ready for us to leave too). I have rapped my brain around it and can't think of anything. What is something good and kinda fun he could go to college for? Something that would be good for the both of us. ~Meanwhile I figure out what I am gonna go for, LOL~

I will be applying to Law Schools this fall and I was wondering how I was supposed to go about getting recommendations from my old professors. Is it something like where I just have them write a letter and then pick it up from there? I've never collected recommendations before, so if anyone has any experience, it would be much appreciated.

Well, my dream is to be a doctor. More specifically, I want to be an Anesthesiologist. The problem is that I'm totally not into science, but I love math. I'm thinking that my dreams may not work out because taking science classes in my high school is a total bore to me and I'm left uninterested. Soooo.. I also have the pressure of my Asian parents to pursue the dreams of becoming a "doctor," but the lack of interest in the science department is definitely a problem. And I don't really have any other options, especially with the pressure from my family and all. Everyone is expecting me to become one. I love Broadway, but I don't know if that would be the proper career for me. Singing and acting is just a hobby i guess.

Ok, Im from the West Coast and applied to the an East Coast university. Do I have some advantage because the university is looking for geographical diversity??

Thats what I heard, that universities from the East like students from the West and that Universities from the West like students from the East.

You think its true?

I want to get into UIC. My GPA is 3.57 but......my ACT score is 19 (I really don't know why). I would take the ACT again to get a better score, but I want to apply early so they can see that I'm interested in getting into their university. I want to study software engineering concentration. Do you think I can get accepted into UIC? please tell me what my chances are.
