However, i haven't been able to find any basis to the effect that that really occurred at Durham or any other university. In high school though i had a teacher who put that on one of our finals, because she claimed a professor did it to her in college.

Do I think it was a question on an exam at Durham University? I don't know. I didn't go to Durham. I think it is probably an urban myth.

Apocryphal story I think. I've heard the story that it was a question on an Oxford philosophy paper and the student who got the highest mark gave the reply above.
