I registered for classes late. And the only thing left was a 4 hour math class on saturday! I don't know how I'm going to do math for 4 hours. I hate math. The class is fundamentals of math. How horrible is it going to be?! Atleast I will be done with math because it is 4 credits.

I'm in community college. It says it's worth 4 credits so I thought it was worth 4 credits. I'm doing liberal arts. And on the breakdown of the associates in liberal arts it says you need 4 credits in math.

A four hour class is not necessarily harder than, say, a two hour class - it just lasts longer.

You may just have to bite the bullet and buckle down to studying math! It is true that it will be intensive. Fundamentals of Math sounds like a beginning math course, so perhaps it won't be so horrible!

From now on, register as soon as you are permitted to; then you will have a good selection of classes to choose from.

It just means instead of spending the usual 3-4 hours over the course of a week, you'll be having one major session on Saturdays. It will be pretty fast-paced probably, but you will have all week to study and do your homework.

Also, I'd check with your school about being done with math. Fundamentals is usually not considered a class that counts towards college credits. And depending on your program, most require at least College Algebra and maybe a math or two above that.

I'm a sophomore in college, and if your school is anything like mine then a four hour math class won't be terrible. I'm taking a 5 hour math class, it's 5 credits. Last semester I took a 4 hour class, lecture three days a week and a recitation once a week. This semester's class is lecture three days a week and recitation twice a week. I don't know of any university that has classes that last more than three hours, but that's usually a science lab or something.

I hate to burst your bubble, but a fundamental math class doesn't count towards college credit in most majors. You will have to take college algebra at some point in time to graduate. You have signed up for a basic math course, which is pretty much just a review of high school math. If you have a class that is only one day a week, it would be the same stuff you would learn if it was 2 or 3 days a week, you just cover it in one day instead. Same homework, same material.

Unless you are completely math illiterate the class shouldn't be too hard, just sucks that it is on a Saturday. But think about it this way, instead of having it for an hour three days a week or two hours twice a week you will get it all done in one sitting and you will be done with math.

Is the class 4 hours in length or is the class worth 4 semester hours? If it's worth 4 semester hours then it just means that the course is going to require extra work. Typically, math courses that are worth 4 s.h. are the calculus courses.

that's an easy math class you'll be fine. They'll probably give you a break about half way thru for about 15 minutes so you can walk around smoke a cigarette take a piss and mingle with your peers.

P.S. I don't think you'll be done with math after that class. Even if you have a Art/Music Major.

well the hardest thing about a 4 hour class is staying awake, but it is only once a week, so there are pros and cons. you'll get thru it! just try to keep alert and concentrate on what they're talking about; maybe it will even be better for you to have that kind of long exposure to math, since you don't like it, it might help you learn it better (i hate math too so believe me i understand).

Are you a freshman? Let's hope your not 1 of 400, or you'll find yourself not attending and then having to take yet another math class. Suck it up, go to class, and remember to register on time next semester!
