I have a 3.1 G.P.A. and I am ranked 147 out of 299 in my class. (49%). My SAT scores was a 480 in math, 450 in Reading, and 500 in Wrting. I also am a three season athlete and a member of the Student Council and Deca Clubs. Also, I have volunteered to help mentally challenged kids and worked at numerous track camps. I have written letters that have made magazines/newspapers (Usa Today, Boston Herald, Sports Illustrated) and I am eventually going to write sports articles for my town's newspaper as an intern. If I sent all this to college, how would I be looking? Also, any ideas for college choices in the New England area?

Does anyone know if the same program will be offered again?

I want to graduate early,. but I don't know if It's too late, I tried talking to my counselor, but she's "not too smart", and I feel like I need a professional,. I want to hear some personal stories/experiences about graduating early,. I am mostly tired of high school drama/adolescence, and I wanna move on to the better part of life, is this a wise desisscion, and I considered the friend factor, best I leave them now, I probably wont see them ever again, so whats 6 months,. I hear college friends are better,. :)

and I was planning on graduating on December,. may some one please help me!?

Should I graduate early, and do I need to sign some papers months ahead of time?

I got a letter from a "Harvard College" today and I saw it is located in Cambridge, MA and also has the same logo as Harvard University.

Thing is, I'm not not that smart. I do aight in high school, maybe 3.7 gpa and 2100 sat, but nothing good enough for harvard. All the other college letters I get are from crap-schools. I'm about to throw this thing away, It's probably just another scam.

I have a freind who holds Appalachian State University to be this high and mighty school, but has this derogtory view of it's neighbor, Western Carolina University. Today was my freinds first day of school in 11th grade and they have never even visited either of the colleges. I don't know anyone who goes to App but I do have a freind who goes to western and he says its is a great school. I looked at both websites to try and prove that one isnt really any better than the other, and in fact found that Western offers more classes and majors (on the website anyways). if anybody has feelings about either school let me know, and explain why too, just dont say "western is better/worse/etc...." i just want to know what makes each great, or maybe what one has that the other doesnt. (ex. campus size, courses, even student population, since numbers don't lie). non bias answers only! thank you!!

Today was my first day in college. I couldn't help but notice all the smokers on campus.

Why do so many college kids smoke cigarettes? Plus, how do you feel about college kids smoking?

I know the question sounds quite obvious, but here's what it entails: I graduated a few years back with a bacehlors in computer graphics. Now i wish to pursue a career in finance. They are completely different, and now my question is a little more specific.

The reason why I ask is because if i were to pursue an mba in finance, I would be afraid that when I graduate w/ an mba in finance, I would have no foundation or basics. Especially when an employer goes to look at my resume. No experience and a masters in finance. Where as if i were to go for a bachelors in finance, there'd be more of a foundation and basic understanding.

Any answers would be well apprecaite, especially if you are in the finance field.

Taken 8 AP classes, and got college credits for all of them
I'm in 4 clubs, two of which I started on my own, one of the clubs I'm in is National Honor Society

I volunteer at Church, homeless shelters, etc. about 3-4 hours per week.

So what are my chances of getting into Harvard, Princeton, or other Ivy League's?

I wanted to know if i could move to texas my senior year and live with my brother (who is 23) and apply to a college in Texas (like UT) and be counted as in-state therefore getting a cheaper tuition fee and a higher acceptance rate. Can you do that?

How long do you have to be apart of the school in order for you to be "in-state". Does it matter?

Or should I just give up and accept the fact that I have to go to some shitty in-state (SC) school?
MIT
Duke
Vanderbilt
USAFA
Any other decent schools I may have failed to mention
Though the ones named specifically (particularly the first 3) would be my preference.

I was just thinking about college selection. Lately, I've been thinking about Johns Hopkins, which is a really, and I mean REALLY good school, and REALLY hard to get in. I've heard from my friends to get into someplace like Johns Hopkins, you need to have taken at least 7 Advanced placement classes in high school. What happens if I only take like 5 or 6 advanced placement classes? Will I definitely be rejected?

I just started the 11th grade today, and it seems like graduation is around the corner. I've been interested in the graphic arts since I was a little younger and I would like to be a part of this field when I'm out of school, oh and to be able to go to a major college in the DC area to achieve this goal.
