Favorite memory as a college freshman?

I went to a small college. With small class sizes, we were always involved in intense discussion. I remember feeling that giant light bulb go off, really feeling like I was being heard and validated for the first time in my life.

I was seated in a Thursday evening class when I noticed the professor, my advisor, was lecturing and smiling large. Then other class mates turned too and smiled; many were football players. Finally I turned to see what it was. The guy beside me had my umbrella open and above my head.
