Is a 29 on the ACT a good score?

The maximum score on an ACT test is 36. I'd say you're doing okay! But here is a link to a comparison chart on Wikipedia (it uses the 2006 results): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACT_(examination)

It's well above average. If everything else is really top notch, then that score will be good enough for almost any college, but not good enough to really "wow" them.
