I get this message when I try to view (some) videos. Can you tell me why and how to fix it? "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found."

I am working on an old system that is currently running windows 95. I have a full version copy of Windows 98. Because this is a full version and not an upgrade version of 98 the computer won't let me install over 95. How do I fix it so I can intall a clean full copy version of windows 98. Will I have to uninstall 95? is that possible? Would a format of the hard drive alow me to install the full version of 98? Help!

Everytime I turn my computer on it takes a while since it starts loading up programs that I don't use. They appear in the box at the bottom right side of the screen. How can I choose which programs I want to load when I start my computer?

okay so i just got my dell and i was trying to get programs for it online and i d/l a program but didnt want it and removed it, now that i've done that when i turn my computer on it goes strait to a blue screen saying that there could be a virus or sumthing and that my windows is shut down so now i cant even log into my desktop to see whats going on...i need help i got essays to type thanks in advance.

it says the video coud not be imported,the required codec was not downloaded automatically because the download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the options dialog box.i dont get what its saying.

I saved the files for the schedules that I want to keep onto a flash drive. I want to delete the entire calendar and re-add them onto a clean calendar, but I don't want to have to delete everything one at a time. Isn't there a menu option that will do this for me?
